  • CEL fail

Took a few things off to measure dimensions this afternoon for a new intake setup and when I had everything back in got a CEL light.

Pretty odd as I only took the battery and pod/MAF off.

Cycled on off 5 times and still there , disconnected and reconnected bat and still there, didn't wait 20mins though.

No obvious leaks so far that I can see, done it heaps of times before without any issues.

Don't have access to a obdii scanner so not sure what it could be.

    Any ideas?

      Yah I knows .

Gonna get one off eBay but will take a bit to get here.

      Hoping that MAF isn't screwed

Wouldn't be the first person that has had a MAF go awal, for some reason they do not like to be handled on multiple occasions.

I took (Hose connecter, MAF, POD) all out as one unit, didnt take the MAF out of the adaptor. Tomorrow will be leaving ECU unpowered for 20mins to reset. if all else fails ....stock.

if stock fails, warranty claim it is.

Big thanks to Blaze for helping me get it sorted!

Turns out it was throwing a:

P0170 - abnormal fuel system, leanness or richness problem on.

Cleared since last night and hasn't come back yet. Still not sure what it could have been since I only had the intake on and off, maybe a leak somewhere I wasn't aware of.

Q: if the car throws a CEL, and the particular problem is fixed. Does the CEL disappear immediately? Or does it take a few days.

Wondering in my scenario if I didn't clear it, how long would it be persistent. Hmm

I used to have cels all the time. If they were "normal" ones, I just cleared them
