          i got a 1241 tonight, which is weird, i have got boost cut a handful of times, but never a CEL til tonight. Usually i hit boost cut, and the car wont boost over .4bar. But tonight, uphill, not pushing it or anything, get the traction light, and the water light...dunno what that means.

          anyone know what a 1241 is ?

              Doing a Google search on the code and it looks like codes 1100 onwards are make specific. This is what I found:

              BMW: Fuel Injector Cylinder 5
              Ford: Sensor power supply low input
              Honda: Throttle Vent Control Motor Circuit 1 Malfunction
              Jaguar: Sensor Power Supply Low Input
              VW: Injector Circuit Open Cylinder 5

              Nothing on Mitsubishi

              Don't think itís got anything to do with cylinder 5 (unless you've got a special engine under your RColt's bonnet ), so it could be a sensor low or something? Probably clear the code and see if it pops up again?

                Fault codes are all different between manufactures Trickster, the same number is different between manufactures

                Steve B P1241 is actully Torque Monitoring

                Code No. P1241: Torque Monitoring

                FUNCTION
                • Compare the difference between the actual
                torque signal and the requested torque signal.

                PROBABLE CAUSE
                • Failed air flow sensor
                • Failed accelerator pedal position sensor
                • Air drawn in from gaps in gasket, seals, etc.
                • Failed throttle valve control servo
                • Failed engine-ECU

                I have got this code before, it relates to the ecu known engine output at the specific point in time, And you engine was producing more torque (or less) than it though.

                IN other words more (or less) air is in the engine (hence the Air drawn in from gaps in gasket, seals, etc. ) producing more or less power

                • Failed air flow sensor - Didnt detect the correct air thats in the engine

                • Failed accelerator pedal position sensor - the TB was either open or closed more than that was indicated by the sensor, thus there was a different amout of air in the engine that what the ecu thought there was

                • Air drawn in from gaps in gasket, seals, etc. - Unmeasure air has entered the engine

                • Failed throttle valve control servo - the servo drove to a different position that it was told to drive to

                • Failed engine-ECU - the ecu couldnt read the database correctly and picked the wrong torque point for the amount of air in the engine.

                All my info was take from the ralliart colt workshop manual!


                Also steve where did ya pull that list from?

                      I need someone who has access to the latest version of the Ralliart Colt Maneul. Darthrev gave me a copy of the one for 02 - 06 RG Colt, I need one from06 - 08.

                      Need more information on fault code P1235 which is a volumetric efficiency check between TPS, MAF and Barometric pressure sensor.

                      It seems our dump pipe package is too good. Once i know what the full details of the code is, then we can work a way around it.

                        No its not what you say it is, it is actully P1235 Trustful check air flow sensor.

                        Well you were close no mention of the Baro sensor.

                        I have e-mailed you.

                        IMO commen fault, i think i may have had it a few times, anyway the info you need has been sent.

                            Haltec, adjust the V out of the Maf to suit, so the ecu thinks there is less air in there, than there is?

                            See im not an engine tuner, but from what i read the ECU compairs the V out of the maf to a table that will determin how much Vout on the MAF there should be in relation RPM Load and most importantly with this fault the TPS position.

                            If the engine has more air flowing thru the system (more boost thus more airflow thru the MAF) it will output this code.

                            Now if you used the haltec to adjust the voltage out of the MAF to say richen the load (as this would be the underlying issue a lean mixture) The voltage according to this table is still going to be different, thus still throw up a cel, as rpm and tps output are still going to remain the same.

                            Or am i just compltley screwing this up?

                              You have it to a degree, the underlying issue is still though that the vehicle is now sucking more air in and more air out. But worst of all, it is sucking more air in now at a lower throttle position, or another way of thinking of it, it is now being more efficient at much lower throttle position.

                              This improved throttle position loading is what is causing the problem.

                              But yes, haltech tuning may be part of the solution. Time will tell. I am fast tracking with Haltech now to try and see what we can do.
