  • cheap exhaust mods

i'm getting a reflash soon with the grimmspeed 3 port bcs
i'm also considering some cheap exhaust mods in the meanwhile
what should i have done remove a cat, straight pipe after cat??

No such thing as a cheap exhaust mod really.

The whole colt stock exhaust is useless.

There's 2 cat in the aus rcolt, and i believe its been tested that taking out the 2nd cat barely does anything to the power (or i can be wrong). I guess, the cheapest way you can do, is to buy a cheap replacement, but probably no cheap way of simply modifying the stock exhaust.

Yeah... The cats are crap... I'd be removing both cats and installing one highflow metal cat... If there's a resonator in there I'd be removing that as well... But those mods there (unless you do it yourself) could cost some coin...

My entire 2.5" mandrel bent system with custom dump pipe and high flow cat cost $1000...

That's a good price for a complete 2.5" mandrel bent system. If can get the place who built it to make some more I'm sure u could sell them on here.

I got quoted $1000 just for the dump!

I believe mine was done for $1500 at Exhaust Technology (Adelaide) - as I asked them since they were there as i purchased the car. It includes full titanium JunBL muffler, custom turbo back pipes with magnaflow hiflow cat and custom dump pipe. I think the JunBL muffler alone is $500 buks.

Got a quote from Southport Exhaust about 6 weeks ago for a 2.5 madrel in mild steel from turbo back with high flow cat for $650. (BARGAIN)!!!!!

Rokku, Exhaust Tech must've changed their prices then? Marky was the one quoting me $1k for the dump.

mmm I'm not 100% certain then. Maybe $1500 was for the turbo back only including JunBL muffler and extra for the dump pipe. Oh well, I'm lucky everything was already on when i purchased the car

RPW dump is half that price.

Mines added up to about $2000 unlike most others it's 100% stainless.

                    Rpw dump pipe
Custom down pipe with flex joint no cat
Rpw cat back version 2 with magnaflow resonator in the middle modded to suit flow exhaust.
Xforce titanium 4" tip 6" body cannon

Paid $940 to the exhaust shop who fitted everything made the custom down pipe, supplied and fitted a high flow metal cat to where the 2nd cat used to be fitted, and added some more joins and bends to match the xforce cannon

Half tig and half mig welded. A work of art.

I'm not a fan of stainless... Don't like the way it sounds...

I was quoted $1000 for the whole system including dump... Or $800 without the dump...

$1000 for a dump sounds like a joke...

I really dont know the deference between the "sound" of a stainless and mild steel exhaust. Explain a lil more for me what the differences are and why you dont like it, im just curious

Personally I love how mine sounds got some meat to it and sounds nasty up high, and is fair loud. Ryan and the boys from the dyno day can vouch for it
