I'll be organising a DECA day at shepparton for some skid pan fun in late February, at this stage its looking like the 24th of Feb which is a sunday.
I've just spoken to Alan Heaphy, Team Principal from TMR to see if he could make it along, and it looks good so far as far as timing.

If TMR confirm, then Alan will no doubt bring somthing VERY SPECIAL along for the day. He has penciled it in his diary, and will confirm later. :D

Customers that have bought Ralliart vehciles from us will go free of charge, (as a token gesture of thanks for their custom) but others that want to come along , it would cost $110 in total for the day, including a free BBQ.

I'll need 30 cars to make it work, and with any luck I might be able to pull some strings and get spencer lowndes along and provide some driver training along with myself. If we cant get 30 R-colts together (which I think would be difficult anyway) I could open it up to the guys with EVO's aswell which will prove to be funny, as an AWD EVO has a huge turning circle so you will be VERY suprized on jus how much motorkhana is as a leveller.

I've run these events before, and at the end of the day the usual comments are, "That was the most fun I've ever had in a car full stop"

Breakdown of what a motorkhana is

In this case it will be held on a slippery skid pan, witches hats will be placed out to make a small tight circuit to navigate around. The idea is to get the lowest time around the cones, without knockng them over.

Everyone will get two practise runs, and two timed runs on each course. There will be several courses, each ranging in difficulty.

In the afternoon, we organise the ring of death. Its a huge Circle out in the middle of the skid pan, and the idea is simply to have fun! Why so fun? Because we turn on the sprinklers and wet down the already slippery skid pan.

Its like driving on a skating rink!

Being concrete its low impact on your tyres, and your car. Its a controlled atmosphere, and a great way for begginers to have fun without risk of damageing your car, or more importantly yourself.
