Went up to meet Ray a.k.a Raymond6. He is in the process of designing a special lock nut for our recaros to make it virtually unstealable (is there even a word for it :p ). So guys, be sure to keep an eye on this forum for those special nuts. I will be the second one in line to get one (obviously Ray will be the first for his own creation). Even Mitsubishi Australia has contacted Ray and show interest in his concept. The main aim of this, is to bring down our insurance money. Top effort, Ray!

Also, we have discussed that a official letter will be necessary to justify the potential issue with the grinding noise we all have from our gearbox. Ray reckon it is gear rubbing against gear, but i reckon its a bearing issue. Although we do have 10 yrs warranty on our drivetrain, but if its a potential issue, we would like Mitsubishi Australia to do a fix before anything happens. Hence, i will be drafting a letter template for all RColt owners to express their concerns on this possible issue. Be sure to keep an eye on it too. ;)

Anyway, here's some pics we took for the day.

hmm...not really! We are talking about something else. If you put your ear beside your left front wheel (passenger side), you should be able to hear a bearing whining noise. Kinda sounds like a bearing that keep going round and round. Can show it to you the next time we have a meetup. Remember to look at our 1st Official Jan RColt meet to see when you can come by.

:D The 1st batch of special lock nuts come of the CNC lathe on Tuesday. So I took my Little Urchin around to my mait who used to have a bad habit of stealing cars and anything attached to them.

It took him 7 miniutes to remove the drivers seat with a lot of banging and swareing.
His comment was "Now I know how to get these #$$%^% nuts of watch this" next time round 2.3 miniutes. NOT GOOD ENOUGH:(

So it's back to the drawing board a few minor changes that need to be made the machinst said he'd have the new batch ready around the 20th of this month.
I will keep you all informed as to the results of the testing program and when the nuts are ready for sale to RColt owners Only.
