Guys, a mate of mine is "asked" me to drive him out to bathurst this weekend to pick up his new ride, what can i put on the front of my vents and skirt to stop butt loads of bugs ? and is there something i can put on the paint to ge the bugs off easier ?

My method is to bring a bottle of water sprayer. Whenever you are at a servo or stopping for a piss (throughout the trip), spray the bugs off (if its too tuff, use your finger without scratching your own pain).
Might look dodgy, but it allows my paint to be bug free at the end of day or make it easy to clean off.

hmm, i have a water spray bottle that has a hand pump for pressure, that should work. Super sweet !
also hooked up my mate who works @ mothers car care products, getting the full kit of waxes ( 3 stage wax kit ), washes, interior cleaner etc etc, rags for 100 bucks. so will go over the car b4 i leave and after....i hate being so anal about my car..lol

I would have thought a bug remover after your trip would suffice. Meguiars have a gold class bug and tar remover. I've used that after night trips in the katherine where bugs are so big, you can count the number of legs they have as you drive over them. :D

Make sure you wax the front of your car that way they dont stick as much and they do wash off. I do 30 hours a month on country roads and hit just about every thing. This month count is 1 kangaroo and 1 black crow.
Having a white car it looks black but the end of the month, by waxing and then using a water pressure cleaner it comes back to new.
No luck with stone chips though.
It might sound stupid but wash your car before you go & as someone has suggested a bit of wax can help too. You'd be surprised that bugs & road crap doesn't stick as well to a clean car :p

i just use an ordinary washer that i used to use when in the shower, with a bit of car wash soap...ive had times after some trips from W'bool to melb and everywhere in between, where my red bumper had turned a shade of brown...lovely! LOL

Hi All,
b4 the trip, spray some "armor all" on the bumper , the front, anywhere you think bug will stick on... when you arrive, wash it off with water

buy a decent wash mit and they will come off fine after a week on there, then a Quick detail after.
i use the meguiers lambs wool mit, it has a gause on the back, make sure you use pleany of water, and light pressure and it wont scratch.
remember i drive between wollongong and sydney daily, i have been washing my window every day i go to work and back.
