Hey guys. Has anyone so far been successful in removing the dashboard fascia to allow the stereo to be changed. I have been searching but can't find any information relating to this??

I have changed mine... just hard to explain how to do it..
First, remove the big centre piece of plastic from the dashboard (just lift it up)
then remove the 2 silver (or red) long strip which sit on the left and right of the radio
There are around 3 screws from each side (cant remeber exactly how many)
Then u can jusr unscrew the unit out of the dash

Hey thanks for taking the time to post this. I actually figured it out myself the other day but I am sure these pics will come in handy for others. I already had the bracket and pocket as my car came with the single Din stereo.
I think this is one of the most intelligently constructed dashes I have come across. So easy to pull apart once you remove the top section and easy to put back together. Having everything screwed also minimises rattles.

so the top section just use a screw driver to pop it up? im assuming its held by clips?

Yes. You dont even need a screw driver. Just bare hands will do

Where did you obtain your pocket from if you don't mind me asking? The pocket I got doesnt fit well and there are gaps around the pocket. I've also looked for pockets with a lid/cover but could not find one.

If you are refering to the one below the head unit.. it is just standard.
Mine is only a XLS, not Rcolt

If you are looking for pockets with lid/cover, you will have to go aftermarket. But aftermarket are all universal, hence the screwing point might not match up. Therefore, getting a OEM pocket is always the way to go. RColt doesn't have OEM pocket, hence you have to go for normal colts'

Thanks for the info...I got it done with a universal pocket. Wished that we had OEM's with a lid.
