Does anyone know what is the turbo boost pressure on factory standard colt r ?

Thanks !

well when i dynoed it. the reading was around 12-11 pound but then dropped off to 10 pound afterwards.

That's right, our stock boost is around 0.9 bar (14.3 psi = 1 bar if i'm not wrong) It will reach max boost during mid range and fell off after. That is why, after around 4.5k rpm, you will start feeling the car isn't accelerating as much as before. This is said to be due to the small intercooler.

That means, sourcing for a bigger intercooler will be our top priority mod to run on the stock turbo. Btw, i tried the CVT model, tink the boost was onli at 0.6 bar. Well, maybe the manual's different.

Any news on intercooler upgrade for those who already got their car?

G, there so many things to do to this car that cost $$. Perhaps a little DIY job can save some. Found this somewhere.

Make a mister. Get a windshield fluid reservoir, mount it where it will stay cool, and fill it with water. Now run the output tube to the intercooler. Mount a few spray nozzles aimed at the front of the intercooler's core, then join them to the output line with tees and such. Rig up this reservoir pump to a switch or button inside the car so that you can momentarily enable it when desired. The water evaporation will help draw even more heat off the intercooler, further lowering the temperature of the intake air that flows through it.

That will be the Intercooler water spray. Evo has it stock, but sadly it wouldn't solve the boost characteristic of the RColt. It will at most, fatten our torque in the mid range.

It will increase power and torque for sure. More mass of air for the same volume and turbo boost, so ECU will increase fuel also to keep the right amount of oxygen in exhaust system. Good because it ill work just when you want to. Necesary if someone finds the way to increase boost to EVO levels!
Later you can go back to smooth operation and good mileage!
