Hi,
I have been modding cars for a while and its time for me to cut back on the $$$ a bit.
My target is between 180-200BHP at the flywheel and I think the exhaust needs work for me to get there.
So here my idea,
Remove 1st cat
Cut out 2nd cat from stock system
Replace section with single sports cat - maybe http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/170406725933?hlp=false
Will this give decent results and pass regs?
Cheers Bob

That will do nothing for performance if you plan on keeping the existing (restricted) exhaust

You don't get any significant gains until the dump pipe is replaced, and then if you go larger than about 2.25" (I believe) you will need a reflash.
Using your proposed setup you will likely get a little more top end power, but exactly how much is difficult to say (maybe 5kw at the wheels?).

In that case is there a cheaper alternative to the RPW front pipe and system?

RPW Catback, Modded with high flow metal cat

And I have an RPW Dump pipe.
Mine was not cheap, But its 100% stainless steel, all flanges are stainless and was done by a decent shop, In total with my rear muffler it about $2000 worth of exhaust.
I bought the RPW Dump, RPW Catback, Magnaflow middle muffler from RPW. $750ish
I already had an Xforce rear cannon muffler $340
exhaust shop was about $900 to install everything, make the custom front pipe, supply and fit the cat converter and mod the rear end of the rpw exhaust to fit the cannon muffler.
