So the Ralliart Colt has been marketed in Australia for over 12 months now and that prompted me to thinking what the longer term owners of the Colt were thinking about their purchase.
How has living with the Colt been and has it lived up to your expectations.
Thought it might be interesting for potential buyers and the rest of us newer Colt owners.

i have only had mine 2 weeks, saw a red one today, its so hard not to hit boost, i love it too much.
but we can now see a slow trickle of aftermarket parts comming out.
and not many warrenty/recall issues

Ive had my Rcolt approximately for over a year now and im still quite happy with it. There has been a few bugs that warranty had to fix but i guess that comes with buying a new car. I bought the Rcolt because it suited my needs and taste. I always had hatches and but room was always a problem. Normally i could fit in most hatches but the passengers wouldnt feel so great sitting behind me. With the car ive got plenty of room and so do the rest of the ppl crammed in. This is my first turbo car so it was great to feel boost and the fact it comes on pretty early in the rev range was another factor.
It feels good in a way that i dont see many on the road but also sad that not many people have come to like it for what it is. It an affordable. roomy hatch with the performance to match!

Hey there,
i've had mine for 11months, so i guess that counts. I love the car, everything you need and more. Low insurance, good fuel economy, nice design, plenty of power. I have crammed a 42 inch plasma in the back in the box, with the rear seats folded down, i can fit my 8 foot maui ( surfboard ) INSIDE the car, so if its cold or rainy and i dont wanna strap it to the roof i dun have to. But...reading some of the technology of the car, and its "odour" removing roof liner i have a grippe. It doesnt work, and in my case does the reverse. Everytime it rains, and many ppl get in and out of my car, the mats get wet, i take them out to dry, or dont, that wet mildew smell just stays in the cabin, i cant get rid of it. If you put a car scent / prefume in the car, even on low you cant smell the "wet dog" smell, but as soon as it runs out, and theres another wet day, the smell comes back. now that IS annoying. plus alot of dealerships service centres customer service is sometimes questionable. ie quantity over quality.
just my 2 cents.

have you got a water leak into the cabin steve?
could be a possibility.

Had mine for about 10 month now. Other than the known noisy gearbox / clutch, the only warranty claim i had, is to replace a noisy rear seat belt (which has been replaced).
Till now, i'm still pretty satisfied with the car. The only place i can think of improving, is the rear seat quality. It just doesn't feel that solid built and it can do with more than 2 tilt degree settings. (Its either too straight up or too laydown)

The main warranty claims were the clutch forks being out of place and the drive shafts needing full replacement.

no water leaks macca, the car is garaged, and when its out in the rain it doesnt have puddles anywhere, its just the water and mats combo, and the silly smell remover in the roof lining. but i live with it.
Steve-B do you run the air-con when its raining? Check that the condensor overflow pipe (the pipe that drips water when the air-con is running) is clear & not blocked.
Sometimes on older cars this pipe can get blocked & then you can get mildew odours returning back into the car. Probably not the cause of your smells but its worth a check.
I've heard a few stories like insects crawling up into the pipe & end up dying in there :p
