Guess still not Evo level despite my mods. I prob stand a good chance with a bone stock EvoX GSR but defo not a SST or one that is boosted up.

I would say, its also due to your wheel spin when taking off, plus unable to match SST's gear change times (no human hand can match anyway). Will still be off the evo x's speed, but at least would be closer.

lol yea probably. they have close ratio 6 speed and dual clutch. oh well... the moment they increase their boost its over. maybe i should try again when my tank is at 1/4. this time round i was on full tank

Still a good effort.
I had a new WRX race me over the weekend. Was unaware it was on so he got a head start. He couldn't pull away though :)

why bother putting the foot down, waste of petrol ... it's just a total different car and class and way better than the colt in many many ways.
If it had been between Golf gti, abarth500, Ford focus rs, 3mps, then it's more interesting :)

my mates bone stock evo X sst, ran side by side all the way to 150km...rolling start at 70km/hr...
he runs around 2 sec quicker on track...with his rs3 hankook...
on his standards tires is was about .3 sec quicker. from memory...its all in my blog somewhere.
********edit**********
he runs a 58.3 on rs3
a 1.01.92 on std rubber
and i run a 1.1.3 on std rubber
so i was quicker
i trust him as being a good driver because now he finishes at top 5 with his new evo 5, sold the X

still interesting to know. Golf GTI stage 2 tune arent my match i can win them pretty convincingly. oh well... this evo isnt stock anyway. it has bolt ons upboost and a tune. nice to know how far i'd lose anyway =)

It's funny everyone uses "evo"/"wrxsti" as the car to measure performance. Not just here but Golf GTI people have also claimed to win or better the Evo or wrx's.
I guess only one way to proof it all - FORUM WARS.

a stock wrx is slower than a golf unless it boost up and tune. is is possible for a stage 2 GTI to be around the level of a bone stock evo or wrx sti. once the sti or evo boostup none of us have a chance. as seen from this video. lol!

If the wheel spin was kept in check that would have been much closer. What rubber you running man?

only normal to compare our cars to whats in the next class up...its a good benchmark...since there not much in our class...
just to show how small our class is...out of something like 150+ cars i am the only FWD running the street series competition (controlled 180 utq rubber or something)
the only other FWDs all run in the race class with semi slicks
i get chucked into 2lt above category when racing in cams events...1.5lt vs 600hp ford gt, porshe gt3 etc
and ppl in skyline forums compare to euro stuff...m3, porshe etc...
its just a interesting comparison...no one needs have a sad...and get soggy vaginaz over it
i heart your rims n rubber espionage8....end of next year...is my target for some decent race rubber and preps

Myself and my mate's Galant VR4 TT, done both 2nd and 3rd gear roll on's, we are 99% neck and neck. He's running tuned on ~175-180kw.
Nfi what I'm running lol.
Nice comparison even if just for shits and giggles, Colt sounds sweet too. :)

espionage8
15-11-2011, 10:11 PM

Torsion brand lsd's can be had for under 1k aud

torsen and quiafe are the same style of LSD. torsen is cheaper by $100. i think quaife has a lifetime guarantee. either way they arent clutch type like the cusco which is more extreme in its mechanism.

They are the same diff, Quiafe bought rights to build the torsion design from torsion lol
