Hi Guys,
I've been shopping around for new rubber and decided on Goodyear's replacement for the Eagle F1 GS-D3. They call it the Eagle F1 Directional 5 or D5. They also have a new Asymmetric. Links for both micro-sites are below. I just put them on so I don't have any useful feedback. I'll come back once I have a chance to put them through their paces.
Now, if you purchase 4 tyres by the end of November, Goodyear will send you $150 for the Directional 5 and $250 for a set of the Asymmetrics. I paid $210 ea mounted before the rebate or $172.50 ea after. The online form is here:

Would be good to read your thoughts on the D5 Flipper.
I may also add if you buy a full set of Goodyears from a kmart tyre n auto this month u also get $100 coles express gift card for some freddos or whatnot.
Whose willing to try the A2's!!! Not available on stock 16" rims though.

Macca: they're rated at 300 for treadwear.
Drove a bit yesterday on dry roads. The D5s seem to be VERY grippy. I'll get back when I have a few more Ks on them.

300, wow way to hard, You need something in the 100-200 range.

..or something about 140 wear rating!;) 300 does seem awfully high, then again it depends on where your priorities lie, longevity or grip in the dry. The Toyo T1R's I had on the colt were a good compromise between both and they were relatively cheap. The Toyo R1R's I have now are a completely different league regarding grip on dry roads and also seem pretty good in the wet so far.

Well the GS-D3s that these have replaced are rated at 280 and they're one of the best rated tyres out there. As I drive the D5s more I'm more and more impressed with them. Haven't seen wet roads yet but in the dry they are seriously grippy.

Just cause a tyre has a low treadware rating doesn't mean they wont grip in the wet, Quite the opposite, Its generally the lack of rain water groves on a tire like an R888 that is not nice in heavy rain.
The 595RSR and KU36 are just as good as the advan in the wet, and better than all your crappy cheap tires by a mile.

the GSD3s were awesome in the wet !
Interested in how these tyres wear / perform
I am very happy with the T1Rs that I have on at the moment.

I decided to do as above and get a full set of Eagle F1 D5's. I'll be doing the cashback and using the fuel voucher as theres a coles express right near my house so these 4 all up will have cost me $610! :D
looks liek you were pretty close to being due a set anyway

Yeah I looked at the wear indicators and just said screw it I'll do it now. The rears have another 2mm on there but still pretty negligible. I might keep the rears for track work.

Hey oodLes, I think you missed the chassis COMPLETELY with that mudguard screw in that tyre! :P
How on earth did that get in there? Just screw itself in there?
I think you'll appreciate this pic? ;)

Got an awesome deal from my local KTAS and jumped on it, after receiving quotes from other tyre places for KU36 @$215+ in the past, never near what you guys quoted of $150+ fitted (you got yours for $136?).

Yeah got my KU36's for like $138 a corner, looking at prices now of $211?! Screw that, its probably 30-40% overpriced when you can get the D5's for $215 from KTAS. (I'm going there tomorrow at 1:30 for fitment, will get pics and do a review against the KU36's asap. :)
Best part is Im back to stock size, KU36's only come in 215, whereas the D5's come as 205 :)
Awesome photo btw, looks like the colt was designed as an evo support vehicle lols
