Hey has anyone had an alarm/immobilers pu ton there colt yet?

Went to get one today, but the first thing my installer said, was it runs a "cebus" or somthing of the like, system which pulses the doors and srs system every 20 minutes when the car is off.

this reaks havoc with alarms apparently and is also on alot os new fords too.

A call to mongoose rep and head office confirmed this.

Mongoose has just finished a factory upgrade alarm, which uses the stock remote which is compatable with the colt. Its about $40 more than the normal alarm.

Mines on order, should go in the car either saturday or monday week. :D

sorry to dig up an old thread - how much was your factory upgrade alarm?

did you get them to install it? if its a factory upgrade does that mean it's pretty much plug and play?

I have been lazy and still havnt had a chance to get back and get it installed, your looking at around $500 estimate, its a mongoose item.

I wouldnt say its plug and play, well no alarm carn be plug and play, you got to brake starter and fuel circuits for the immobiliser, "factory upgrade" really just means it uses the factory remote to trigger the alarm.

ahh ok then thats kinda crap - i was hoping it was a simple plug and play job. Might as well just install a pager alarm for that price and use a new remote to open/close the doors

I've bought an alarm and window lifters... waiting to have them installed on the 9 Jan...

The brand is 'Antitheft', contains 3 immobiliser etc, and also a 4 window lifter module to close all 4 windows upon arming the alarm...

$650 all up inclusive of installation...

will let you know how it goes once it goes in on the 9th Jan

after some initial installation issues - where i couldn't lock the doors from inside - all is good.

The alarm works well, 3 additional immobilisers installed, shock sensors etc...

works well with the window lifters....

pretty happy with it~

since they used my Rcolt as the test mule for installation, they'd know how to do it right from now on... so if u want contact let me know..
