View Full Version : Hybrid TD04
Hi,
Came across this workshop in Singapore selling Hybrid TD04 turbos for our ride and was quoted 500 with a customised flange and labor all in.
The boss told me spooling rate will be similar or coming in earlier than stock due to the ball bearings. :)
Any opinions OZ folks ? :D

I have been told by many that this would be a suitable upgrade for the Colt.
However when it comes time for me to upgrade, I will be going something slightly larger :p

i had a similar setup on a Starlet turbo a couple of years back worked a treat
as anything bigger you start to get a lot of lag.

Hi We1hu1,
How do you have numbers in your name? :D
Ok to clarify, i went down to check again. 500 bucks all in is using locally hybrid TD04s done up from recon TD04s.
800 bucks is using Brand new Deadbolt TD04s with dual ball bearings shipped from the US.

Hi R3X. I believed you are the one who commented on the disgusting outlook of my car sometime back. I also believed you did mentioned that your yellow coloured CVR was undergoing some major modifications at Garage R few months back to bring it up to 300bhp. I almost forgotten about you till I saw your nick which rings a bell and a check from older posts confirmed that my memory is not failing me.
It has been a few months and I am sure your modifications have been completed and your pink coloured 300bhp Colt R is now ready for road tests. Please ring me @ 98623803 so that we can arrange a meetup. I would love to know you in real life so that the next time I decide to add some stickers onto my car, I will have someone to seek advise on so that I do not bring shame to the Singapore local CVR community. I will also need to seek advises on how to drive properly so that I do not look like a F1 driver on laxtives.
Lastly if you are not comfortable speaking to me directly, you can approach tingtw, ColtVerR or we1hu1. They are all members of Team DST, a Singapore based all-Colts team. Please accept my humble invitation to meet because I believe I can learn a lot from you on how to enhance my ride in terms of both looks and performance.
PS: I regret having to come all the way here to look for you. It does seem that you and Garage R have a secrecy treaty and they would say they have not done up any other yellow CVR apart from tingtw in Singapore.

Believe you didn't get the whole idea. Oh and apologies for the error in spelling. Yes I mean laxatives. Why don't you give me a call? I think I can do with some spelling lessons too.

Hi R3X. It is true that I am a nobody and I probably do not deserve a call from someone who owns a 300bhp monster. You are a soon to be "pride of Singapore's CVR" while my friends and I would just forever be wannabes. It is sad that you have turn down my request for a phonecall. I was really looking forward to knowing you in real life so that I would have someone to depend on when I embark on my new decal project. It is a shame that I would probably bring shame to the local CVR community with my tasteless sticker designs. It is also with a heavy heart that I admit that I would probably never be able to drive like you and/or know what mods I should add to my ride to achieve a well modded CVR.
Then again, I believe this is not the end. Singapore is a small country and I believe that if you are who you claim you are, its only going to be a matter of time before we run into each other. I look forward to seeing your pink coloured 300bhp monster on the Singapore roads.

any more posts not related to the TD04 for the colt in this thread will be deleted, and then this thread will be deleted...try and stay on topic guys, if you wanna have a bitch fight, make you own thread not in this section, and everyone can laugh and carry on with you there.

R3X, you're Singaporean aren't you? why don't you share with us how you got to 299bhp? we're fellow CVR owners and its really quite a small community. Surely your purpose here isn't just to show off, with no intentions of sharing? That would be terribly selfish, and I'm sure you're a better man than that.

Its okay fellas. Gaultan and me have found the workshop which deals in brand new Hybrid TD04. Turns out he is a relative of one of our teammates. The RColt admins have requested we keep this thread clean and let's cooperate so that readers can get information by clicking the thread title instead of looking at selfish people posting stuff but refusing to share details. I would be happy to let the garage owner know how his business is being restricted by his "loyal" customer. Let's keep the hunt in our Singapore forums and keep this thread as clean as possible.
Fellow RColt brothers: My apologies but I hope you understand our team is small and close knitted and we would stand up for one another in times of needs. To make up for this mess we have created, I would personally R&D the turbo and post reviews here for all to see and if there are sufficient interest, we can even link you guys up with our local garage so that you can personally order the stuff necassary for this turbo upgrade. Stay tune for more.

Hey Wolfe mate,
if you do get the td04 together. if you can get us a dyno result and a write up of your current mods, and then a dyno after the new turbo is on, with no mod changes that would be great. so we can see the difference in touque and peak power ( kw ) then we can get a good idea of how much difference there is with the new turbo. Awesome work dst boys.

Sure Steve. We currently have 3 workshops who are interested to do R&D for our car in terms of turbo upgrade. The price range from $2000 SGD to $3000 SGD. The package includes the exhaust manifold, external wastegate, turbo and all bolts, nuts and worksmanship costs. The issue we need to iron out is to find the turbo with the correct A/R ratio and to work out small issues like what will happen if the turbo don't run well, etc.
A lot of time involved but rest assure all information would be shared with all of you.
