View Full Version : [Updated] RColt's in Best Motoring again

Just checked the Best Motoring Japan Website. On the 2007 Feb edition, our RColt is reviewed again, as along with the usual Swift Sport & Polo GTI. Tried to find a bit torrent for it, but its too new.

I wonder if any of you can source a copy from Japan?? So eager to find out how our RColt fare again this time.

But its sad to see our RColt performed quite badly :(

All i can understand, is that it has bad understeer. But then again, its not a very tuned car at all compare to others. Look at the ralliart catalogue and you will know this RColt only has spring + shock upgrade, panel air filter, exhaust upgrade. Oh well.....when is there going to be a aftermarket tuner for our car??? :(

Yeah this test is a bit unfair on the old colt as it seems to be about the same level of tune as what we buy here from the showroom. I cant read/speak japanese but it looks like the swift has been much more modified - ride height adjustable coilovers and lsd bound to help lap times.

Actually looking at http://www.bestmotoring.jp/BM/200702/ the more interesting video would be the review of rcolt vs Swift Sport & Polo GTI. If anyone finds like to that post it up :)

OK, i have finally downloaded the torrent for this eps of Best Motoring. The part about RColt vs Swift Sport vs Polo GTI (5dr) is the braking distance and turning ability.

Test description:
All cars enter the breaking point at around 110kmph. All make a sharp left hand turn (steering lock). This is based on a 50R corner. At 60m from the breaking point, 4 safety cones are placed at equal distance from left to right. The cone will determine the cornering ability of each car. Obviously, if a car can head towards the most left cone, it means the best cornering. Via Versus for the most right cone.

Braking Results:
Swift Sport 88.5m
RColt 59m
Polo GTI (5 dr) 78m

Cone Results:
Swift Sport hits the most (last) right cone
RColt hits the 2 last right cone
Polo GTI hits no cone at all......and yes, it went all wide and miss every cone in range.

Overall, RColt rules :D

You can order copies of back issues for 2,100 yen each via the website, but unfortunately the Colt issue is sold out. I'll see if I can round up an issue some other way here in Japan.

Would love to give you a copy, but unfortunately i have lost my own copy during my last pc crash where me lost much more than just the BEST MOTORING VIDEO :(

how can our clean white spotless cases make you feel dirty?

Infact they are cleaner than a north shore hospital operating theater :P

Did i mention i havent needed a virus scanner on mine, ever!

I got a virus once, it said it wasnt compatable with my system :P

You see the only good thing about Vista Is that even the viruses have compatibility issues.
