hey guys about to throw my hard earned down on some suspension but want a bit of opinion on the two contenders BC's and K-Sport's both look the goods and both come at a reasonable price so if ya have em post up ya opinions pls.

Oh a bit of knowledge on the area im using the car might be in order as well , the car will be used as a daily driver in rural qld so if you have driven more than 250 km outside of a major city you will know how bad the roads are out there so i probably can go for a Max setting of sports rated springs , since the car will be used at road events (hill climbs and various small sprints and rallies) for a bit of fun.

anyway any info would be appreciated .

If you have alot of rural road to do, i would recommend finding a set of Ralliart Rally Suspension over any of those 2. But just between the 2, i bet my money on the BC as i heard K-Sport can be able unreliable.

You will die with normal BC coilovers

I have custom ordered springs for mine 5kg front and 4kg rear and thats bumpy on sydney roads

lol when i mean rural i guess i mean a set of roads so patched up that there isn't a smooth spot for at least 50 km , the recent rain hasn't help townsvilles crap roads to get better , i swear they just patch the road and say its only going to get another hole so why fix it properly sigh!, anyway yeah since the original suspension is not the very good and being spoiled by the last car a mx5 with semi race setup am looking for something a little bit better.

macca if you have ever been through some of the back roads of sydney you will know what i have to put up with in townsville :) . Yeah that is why i'm looking at RPW's stuff since it gives you the option of spring rates.

Let me get this right, you live at places where roads' stuffed, but at the same time you want to spoil yourself with some harsh suspension???? You sure you are spoiling yourself or punishing yourself :p

lol yeah , i like peeing blood i guess :).

Hmmm how to describe what i want , i want the car to make its mind to be a sports car not a shopping trolley with attitude i guess and another two wheels powered by the engine would be awsome , but then i would just be driving a evo.

In that case, i would suggest doing suspension bush upgrades and sway bar upgrades. This way you still have the stock suspension for the rough road but have those upgrades to make it sportier....

k thx lovecolt will get some and fit em up and if the need is still there will go for the kidney punchers next.

Macca had a thought if you go don't do racing much maybe look for some variable rate springs

After doing the bushes, swaybar and King Springs, I agree with Lovecolt. You don't need to have lowered springs to get it to handle well - especially with rough roads.
It looks good lowered but still performs very well at the stock height. The lowest I would go for comfort would be the Ralliart springs but that's it. It's not unbearable lowered but it is noticably rougher than standard.

I dont mind the harshness and noise of my coilovers, others dont haha. I also drive 70kms each way for work.

I got mine at a basement bargain price $820 aud delivered from NZ as they were on special

nice price macca, yeah i don,t mind a hard car if i know y it handles awsome. I'm just trying to get good suspension that can get me traction out of rough corners on race days , hmm maybe i should wait till the diff is in and then see what i need , i might just be getting ahead of myself doing up the car.

it wont help with traction under power.

You will get a fuck load less body roll and it will look a heap better.

I installed Lovecolts RSR springs and took it around a few corners I know well and I noticed his car had a heap of body roll after the spring change compared to my coilovers.

I also found any colovers on the rear of the car are a bitch to set up due to the springs and torsion bar setup as opposed to the spring over shock

LOL. That happens when your spring rate's almost double of my RSR :p Oh well, i live in a rural city, so can't go to hardcore :D

Thoes APi Racing type RS coils look IDENTICAL on the rear end to my BC Coilovers, even down to the part number on the rear spring. However the rear spring mount looks longer.
