Is it just me or are all the Colt's driver side power windows have their auto up feature disabled? Anyone know any mods to get that feature back?

its not disabled, but rather don't have it at all :p I believe any car alarm installer can fit a aftermarket controller to do that...

Yea the aftermarket part if I'm not mistaken costs like $200! How come it's not there? I heard it's an ADR ruling thats why it's not there.

Yeah - this drives me nuts.
Even on my old Barina, I had auto up on the window. Meaning I could switch the engine off and take the keys out, while the windows were still closing.
I really miss this in the RColt :(

Oh - and I miss not having a light in the boot as well.
Not great when you get home after dark and can't find where a can of baked beans you just bought at the supermarket has rolled to

This item is used to auto up the windows when the cars is locked from the remote.

Atleast while your winding them back up it give your turbo time to cool down :P

I plan on my nesk project to self install a light in my boot. I can't believe they actually missed a light there! It's not hard installing a light...it's only hard tapping into the wires from the map lights all the way to the back. It's a lot of work opening panels.

is there a boot switch at all? You could use it as a ground, or have an alarm installer install a switch for you insted of running from from the front.

What do you mean by a switch? The reason why I want to tap the power from the front is because the map lights are the one that is triggered only when the doors are open. If I were to tap into other power sources at the back it is most likely to be only powered when the car's ignition is on.

Yeah I've tought of getting the car alarm installers to do it but then I figured that it's going to cost a lot of labour. I've already self installed other components in the car i.e. amplifiers, power splitters and upgraded some internal wiring I should be able to get this done as well. Just that it's time consuming. Well...theres a price to pay if I want convenince :)

The rear hatch does have a trigger to activate the 'door open' warning light on the dash. If you have a multimeter, and some time and patience, you can locate the trigger wire, and test it whether it carries 12 volts.

I don't have time right now to check it myself, but I think that the trigger would be located in the hatch itself, rather than the striker on the hatch opening.Either pull off the platic trim on the inside of the hatch, to locate the wiring harness, or probe the wiring harness boot that runs between the hatch and body.

To locate the correct trigger wire you need to probe 1 wire at a time. You will need two people to do this. One to hold the multimeter, the other to open and close the hatch!

Once you have found the trigger wire, you just need now to check whether it has 12 volts positive.

Also, if anybody requires a 'How To Remove The Rear Interior Trims', I can post this as well.

Oh yes...please post those information up! I'd appreciate it a lot. I've got a multimeter...I'm going to do it this weekend if feasible.
