I'm coming up to my first service, 1500km according to my sales person.

Can anyone suggest a Mitz dealer or non Mitz dealer I should get my service done at? I read that some Mitz dealers are to be avoided :o

Btw is the 1500km free? Fingers crossed :p Thanks...

the 1500km free service is basically a fluid change service. They will not change anything unless somethings faulty. The 1500km service is really for you to claim any warranty fix more than anything

Thanks for that info, lovecolt. It probably wont matter where I take it for the 1500km service then if its only a oil change.

So where is everyone else taking their rcolts for their major services?

Oh sorry! typo mistake. I was meant to say "the 1500 free service is bascially a fluid CHECK service"

For servicing, i bring mine to IS Motor Racing (the builder of the Autosaloon S15 Drift Car) Been with them for many yrs, my last 2 cars are well taken care by Indy. Alternative, i would only recommend Josh from Pro Concept. Josh has just join partners with Spoon Sport of japan. His attention to detail is second to none.

Hi Guys,

I just got off the phone yesterday with Ralliart and they have advised me to get my Ralliart Colt serviced by only Ralliart Dealers. As I have a Ralliart Magna and Ralliart Colt and the dealership in Newcastle is no longer a Ralliart certified dealer , Ralliart have advised me to go to Gosford "Booths" Mitsubishi for a service. They really didnt care about the Magna as it is outside of the factory warranty but still under dealer warranty which is now a non-Ralliart dealer. Ralliart were saying that you must have it serviced by a Ralliart dealer to maintain the warranty issues if parts were required to be replaced under warranty. I love the Ralliart brand but it gets a hard when you have to drive nearly an hour to get a car serviced. I think the phrase "better backed and better built" is missing the first item. Good luck to all and we will see what happens with other people when warranty claims come in and what Ralliart decide. I love my Ralliart cars and have been a Mitsubishi guys for over 20 years but it hurts when you have these pain in the arse issues.

Thanks lovecolt & phul007. Do you have a contact number for IS Motor Racing pls?

So I guess the rest of the people are taking their rcolts back to their Ralliart dealers for service then...

http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/motorvehicles/repairs.html#Repairs%20and%20service

If you have a problem with a new car that is still under warranty, refer to your warranty and talk to the motor dealer who sold you the car.
Whether new or second-hand, your car should have come with a logbook or owner’s handbook that sets out when the vehicle should be serviced and what maintenance needs to be done. To keep your car in top condition and to avoid the possibility of breakdown or expensive repairs in the future, you should follow the maintenance schedule. If the car is still under warranty and you don’t have it serviced to the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule, you may void your warranty. As long as the service is carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications, any licensed repairer can do it, not just the dealer from whom you purchased the car.
When booking your car in for a service, clearly explain to your repairer the type of service you require. Different costs are associated with the different types of services you can have. If you don’t have a logbook or handbook and are not sure what your car needs, ask the repairer to explain what is involved with each type of service and its associated cost. If you are still uncertain, it is wise to follow the manufacturer’s service schedule.
The more information you can give to the repairer, the more likely the diagnosis will be correct and the repair carried out properly. You may even need to test drive the car with the repairer, for example, if a rattle only occurs at a certain speed. Always ask for a written cost estimate or quote to fix the problem so there are no surprises at the end. It is a good idea to leave a contact number with the repairer in case they discover the need for additional work.
If you decide not to carry out the repair, the repairer is entitled to charge a fee for the diagnosis.

I totally agree about what is being said about other people doing a service apart from Mitsubishi, what I have left out is that I took an "Extended Warranty" of an extra 3 years on the Magna and the factory warranty was only 2. When you read the contract is states that you MUST have the car serviced by the dealer that you signed the contract with. It is a big lesson to live but sh*t happens. I can see why Ralliart is requesting that a "Ralliart Dealer" do the work as some of the extra "Ralliart" parts may need special tools which a standard mechanic may not have. As I an in the IT industry you always get caught with one company blaming the other why things dont work properly. I would hate for a issue to arise on the colt and have Ralliart say that a mechanic didnt do the work properly and not pay for something to be repaired. I am definatley not saying that the mechanics at Mits are any better as I had three rear windscreens fitted to the Magna because I made comment about a rattle , after testing they assured it was the windscreen. After the third one went it the rattle was still there. I told them not to worry about it and found out later that the rallt was actually in the sunroof when the blind is open. I am sure that other guys are great and I will service my car by a good mechanic when and if I find one.

Where did you get that idea from :p

A common fault with Ralliart Magnas is that the rear spoiler (similar to a Evo 6) fills up with water on the left hand side (see Ralliart.com.au Forum).
It is fixed by replacing the gasket in the spoiler as it comes apart in pieces.
To remove the top end plates the dealer (also confirmed by the Mechanic who I personnally know) advised they needed a special tool to do this.

At this stage I could see the colt needing the same but a could see that a mechanic who hasnt worked on a Ralliart model may dissmandle something the wrong way from lack of experience. By being on the forum gives us all more information about issues and fixes than most others. Information and experience is very important so if you can find a non-company mechanic who works on your type of car all the time I would use him all the time. For exmaple MRT for wrx's , I am sure there are others as well.

i got what you mean now. Luckily, rcolt don't have any fault on its exterior bits that requires any input from the dealer mechanics. I will so stay away from dealers for anything.
