IMO, i don't think the EG9 stands a chance. Our RColt do 0-100kmph in 7.4 secs and that is near ITR zone range. But obviously, the 7.4 sec takes a very good skilled driver to achieve. But 30 lamp post........where are you going to race that in Singapore?? The airport highway towards East Coast??

Lets not forget we have a friendly neighbour a short drive away, Malaysia. Singapore roads might be a little risky but still possible.

Btw, EG9 is not a rival to be underestimated. Paper spec, it is almost on par with the CVR on BHP. Body weight is slightly above 1.1 ton. Ohhh, n i forgot to mention one thing. My fren's EG9 is running on hi-cam. Hmmm... I DON"T want to lose on my first race! hahaha...

Hi cam or not, its not going to win RColt on the torque. But top speed might lost out to the high cam Hence....30 lamp post distance might be enough for them to catch up.

having owned a civic before,i would say CVR stand a chance to win for 30 lamposts...i bet the civic will take off first maybe up to 3rd gear because of its high revving engine...after that,i guess turbo rules...my 2 cents worth...:D

if your friend is running on high cam,its not consider stock anymore...
and i don't think his power still stands at 160bhp...who knows he might have a 1.8litre block or worst still a 2litre block which is a very common block...
never look down on Vtec...they are monster in disguised...

I reckon you'll maul it - all of you may not think the ralliart colt is that quick, but put it up against other cars and they're demons.
I raced my mates Chipped Polo GTI yesterday (145kW at the wheels!) and we were dead even till 3rd gear 140+km/hr...
He was suprised, I was suprised, his boss at work (APR engineering in Brisbane - big Euro tuning company) was VERY suprised.
Don't underestimate your car, just let him do that instead ;)

You should chew up and spit out the EG9 however gently run in your Rcolt 1st there has been many idea's about this on this forum so it might be an idea for you to read them and make your own decision.
I know that for the 1st 1500kms mine was a slug bucket and it is still improving at 4500kms.
If it was me id wait to my Rcolt had about 2000Kms on the clock and you had time to practice shifing quickly without allowing the revs to drop so that you will have something to brag about not lement.:)

Hi Turbo,
U r rite. My fren only managed to over take by slightly half a car length at 3rd gear... Bu after that, the distance remained. Cut-off speed was just ard 140km/hr. We may try a longer distance the nxt time...

That honda must be a B18 (ITR) or B16 (CTR) engined or else he will have no way of even overtaking us.
But that's ok, we can cheat too by upper our boost once we unlock the restriction :D

The reason why half a car was because of the 100cc less that we have on tap.
But so far what cars have you done so far ?
It is so easy to boost up the hp of a forced induced car.

i don't think its the 100cc issue...
though 100cc lesser, but it got about 50Nm of torque more than the EG9.
i guess its the closer gearings and higher redline of the civic that helps.
no doubt for force fed cars, more power can be extracted easily...

Torque doesnt make much of a difference at high speeds.
Pure BHP and CC does.
