Does anyone know how to remove the cover of the back of our mirrors? as well as the covers on the bottom of the mirrors.

The covers click off, but be careful not to scratch the paint (as I did doh), all done from the outside of the mirror, no need to remove the door trim etc.
Get a fine knife (I used a sharp pocket knife) and run it along the bottom of the covers edge eg: some where you won't see if you scratch the paint, and gently
pull cover away from car, then they should just come off.
Hope that helps :-)

The rcolt workshop manual has diagrams that show how to remove certain parts of the mirror assembly, grab a copy if you don't already have one.

the lower cover has a small hole in the bottom edge to fit a small screw driver just dont pry too much as it will damage the plastic, but they are tight lol

the upper one is not really meant to come off.

Carbon cover would look great, I think this is what RALLI needs to match his bonnet and front lip

dont have the workshop manual on me (away from home atm) and just curious... where is the motor assy? in the mirror or in the bottom part?

my drivers side has decided to stop working, well, i can hear the motor but the mirror isnt moving and its got a bit of movement so i suspect something in the mechanism has come loose/broken

Do you mean the fold out or the actual mirror? The fold out motor sits inside the lower arm, whereas the directional on is behind the mirror. If its your mirror only it might have popped out of one of its sockets and should just click into place.
