Does anyone have any idea of the output power of the standard CD/Radio fitted Australian Ralliart Colts as I have just scored 4 Rockford Fosgate 5.25 two way speakers however I don't know if they will be able to handle the output of the standard deck.

yes they will, the standard headunit only puts out about 12wrms! standard rcolt speakers are only rated at 12wrms! so you'll be fine! btw 5.25' won't fit in the front. its a 6 1/2' speaker in the front!

This conflicts with some other post that say all four speakers are 5.25' are you 100% certain that they are 6.5' front and 5.25' rears

You can fit a smaller speaker than the stock one you just need to make spacers.
Things to remember when fitting speakers
Is the speaker magnet shallow enough to clear the window when its wound down.
Is the speaker flush enough to the door assy for the door trim to fit back on, keeping in mind the above parragraph.
I have fitted 6.5" spekers in a 5.25" stock speaker hole. With a fair amount of door tirm mods ;)

finally went to put in my 5.25' MBL Quart splits in the front doors today your definatly right you need a spacer to go from 5.25' speaker hole centres
Here are some measurments I took:
The standard cut out diameter in door to accomidate the speakers is 130mm this measurement this is 1/8 of and inch 3.17mm under 5.25 inches in diameter.(This is the same for the front and back doors)
Speaker mounting screw centers 152.4mm or 6 inches .(This is the same for the front and back doors)
Maxium mounting depth front 90mm with the front window down
Maxium mounting depth back 80mm with the window down.
As for spacers what a pain looks like im in the market for a set of 6 inch speakers oh well they will give me a bit better base.

I dont think 6" speakers will fit too easly.

These are a 5 1/4" set of speakers, can you see how the drivers overlap the stock mounting screw position, so i had to make another ring, and cut holes out for the stock screws to fit in.

My driver on the left, and standard on the right, the stock speakers is a 5 1/4 unit, but they are built into that whole plastic mount, so the screw holes and hole in the door are not designed to fit to a standard round hole.
Any speaker you want to fit, will need a spacer, but you may not need to go as far in as i did, as different aftermarket drivers have different size rims where there mounting holes are.
P.s My drivers are Diamond Audio M5 Magnesium Alloy splits.

I got 4 Standard 5.25 speakers from ebay so after some advise I decided to see if I could modify them so that I could mount my new 5.25' JBL splits
firstly place a small screwdriver in the slot to the right of the speaker connector and leaver out the foam and plastic ring
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z11/einstein99/SpeakerMountStep1.jpg
Then with a knive distroy the speaker cone and VERY carfully scratch away the glue holding the silver speaker connectors to the plastic body of the speaker. Once you have done this VERY carefully leaver them connectors away from the speaker body.
http://s192.photobucket.com/albums/z11/einstein99/?action=view¤t=SpeakerMountStep22.jpg
Then cut the copper speaker wires
Be carefull now if you want to use the existing connector. Place the connector in a vice with the front of the speaker facing you then with a care push the speaker backwards away from you and the connector should brake away. Keep it for later use.
http://s192.photobucket.com/albums/z11/einstein99/?action=view¤t=SpeakerMountStep3Brakingconnectorof.jpg
Then with a hacksaw with a fine toothed blade cut the old speaker of leaving about a 3mm rim. Don't cut right up against the back face of the speaker mount otherwise you will have no positive location for the mount and your speaker mounting screws will not have anything to bite into.
http://s192.photobucket.com/albums/z11/einstein99/?action=view¤t=SpeakerMountStep55.jpg
http://s192.photobucket.com/albums/z11/einstein99/?action=view¤t=MoutSpeakerseperatated.jpg
The next step is to file away the ridge of the front side of the old mount for the mounts of the new speaker fortunatly their are 3 little ribs on the old mouting face that will give you an exact guide as to the centreline for fileing these grooves
http://s192.photobucket.com/albums/z11/einstein99/?action=view¤t=SpeakerMountStep6.jpg
Next drill the holes use a 1.5mm drill and drill the holes in about 2.5mm from the inside edge of the old mount
http://s192.photobucket.com/albums/z11/einstein99/?action=view¤t=DrillingnewspeakermountHoles.jpg
Next cut the mounting screws down with a good pair of wire cutters to no longer than 4mm
http://s192.photobucket.com/albums/z11/einstein99/?action=view¤t=StdSpeakerScrews.jpg]
http://s192.photobucket.com/albums/z11/einstein99/?action=view¤t=CutdownSpeake.jpg
Take care now you will need to use one of the long speaker mounting screws to pre start the holes that you have just drilled. Screw the screws in on a slight angle away from the centre of the speaker mount so as to avoid them braking into the centre of the mount.
http://s192.photobucket.com/albums/z11/einstein99/?action=view¤t=prescrewingofmountingscrews.jpg
Next with patiance and care using the little screws you have cut down screw the speaker into the old mount DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN these screws as they are only holding onto 1.5mm of plastic of you strip these screws rotate the speakers 45 degress cut the grooves again and redrill and pre screw the holes again with care
Hay presto in 15 mins the job is done.

dave the cavity is HUGE! i think i measured over 50mm deep atleast.
oh and after looking at the pics, i can assure you, that they are going to sound like ass and have NO bass what so ever.
all due to the fact, of the gap between the new speaker and the surround, basically its one big air leak you dont want.
so get some 6mm mdf, and cut to shape and stick it on and screw it all in
but you have done a nice job.

Dave see my post above you have 90mm of depth to work with and the inside diameter of the original speaker flange once you have cut out the original speaker is 139mm this also gives you an extra 5mm of depth making the overall maxium depth of speaker you can mount at 95mm using the original black plastic mounting flange. Then the maxium mounting diameter of the speaker you could use, (ie) The original mounting flange will take any speaker that requies up to a 139mm diameter cut out.
