If you wanna go slim it should be fine... Plenty here have slim batteries. If you run into any problems just get a capacitor for your audio...
I recently bought a maintenance free battery from Newcastle Batteries for $160 with 2yr warranty...

Get a maintenance free battery as faux said
One member had his ABS/ECU ECU die due to a slim small battery apparently so be careful there.
I had my Battery Replaced only Last Week.... $150 Full Size Maintenance Free...

do i ask for a free maintenance??
Nah... From an Auto Electrician down here in The Gong.... My Cousin. :D
As long as you at least match the CCA, (Cold Cranking Amps), rating on your Original Battery, you should be fine.

I dont know what your budget may be, but I purchased a Optima battery, used them in the past and cant go wrong, if I remember correctly it was the D35 i think, these are however normally around the $350 mark.

Just picked up a Supercharge Gold Maintenance Free battery, as mine gave up the ghost. http://www.supercharge.com.au/product_detail.php?seq=37&return_url=battery_search.php
Nice battery, 610CCA, RC 111, slipped straight into the factory location. Has this cool battery condition indicator as well. Best of all, no topping the stock battery up any more :)
Hey guys, sorry for the old thread revival...didn't wanna create another similar thread. So anyway my factory battery is dying, had difficulty starting the last couple of days. Im thinking of replacing it with a smaller and lighter weight type, but not bothered to do under-seat relocation. However, my biggest concerns are: will a lower CCA cause issues with the abs or ecu as some have reported? How low is too low? (say 340 CCA vs 580 CCA for the oem spec).
These are what im looking at getting:
a) Deka (AGM) ETX18L - 340CCA. 8.2kg. Approx $150
b) Supercharge (Sealed Calc) MF50D20L - 430CCA. 9.8kg. Approx $160
Im leaning toward the Deka since its almost 2kg lighter than the Supercharge, and 7kg lighter than the oem battery! Has anyone had experience with the Deka batteries?
Note: Vehicle is driven almost daily. Standard stereo, no subs or amps.
