So Ill install mine tomorrow.

Looks like it says you only really need the one strut, and you remove the stock holding rod and fit bracket to that hole.

Ill give it a go tomorrow

Might add a 2nd bolt on the fender bracket to keep it stable.

Ill update this thread when it goes in.

Macca's Install and thoughts!

Brackets included
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u236/Macca_gong/IMG_0499.jpg

2 bolts and nuts

2 normal washers

4 star washers

So I installed this kit today

My thought, Awesome as, Yes its a little rice like but I love it.

Build quality besides the bad instructions is good. It was easy to install, No holes drilled.

Hard parts

Removing stock rod stay and its bush you need some screwdrivers to remove the bush, I used jewelers ones and brute force lol

You will need to use both struts ONE is not enough to lift it up
I added 2 washes

So here it is!

Start on the right side of the car, the drivers side, then this one ill hold up the hood while you do the other side.

You will need a 10mm and 12mm socket.

So I made extra washers for inside the fender brace, the hole it big and I dont think the bolt is big enough, As you can see i cut the top off some mudguard washers and that flat bit sits up the top in the inside of the fender brace, if you dont cut it the hole in the washer will sit to low.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u236/Macca_gong/IMG_0503.jpg

Now install the Fender bracket.

Put the new washer on the bolt and poke it thru the hole thats below the hump in the fender brace up the top.
While holding the bolt with one hand place the normal washer on THEN the star washer ontop of the normal one (this is so you dont damage the car with the star washer) Then the bracket, then the 10mm bolt.

One the nut is on grab your 10mm spanner and do it up, The bracket should be spaced so the brace is as far to the front of the car as it can go. so the washer sits just under the fender bracket.

Hold the bolt still on the inside while you do it up, it should stay still once its tight then you can hold the bracket down while you get it nice and tight as it will tend to rotate as you tighten it up.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u236/Macca_gong/IMG_0504.jpg

now remove the UPPER bolt on the hood. its a 12mm head, and stick the Hood bracket and then a star washer on. Note the angle do it up loose so you can pivot it, so throw the damper on and get the angle right.
You might need to angle it as the body of the damper is hitting the fender bolt on mine ever so slight, You can rotate this hood bracket to move it away when its closed.

http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u236/Macca_gong/IMG_0507.jpg

Close the hood to might sure its all nice and aligned so do it slowly and keep an eye out.

Put some grease on the inside of the ball joints and then install the clip for them, its a little fiddly to get the clip in.

Now for the left side. I was lucky I had just enough room with my circuit breaker there, its sits in JUST the right spot lol.

Install is just the same as the right, but with the left hand labeled parts :P

So pics of left side.

http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u236/Macca_gong/IMG_0509.jpg

Note the angle again

http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u236/Macca_gong/IMG_0510.jpg

So it shouldnt take more than an hour with making the new washers up.

And all finished!

http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u236/Macca_gong/IMG_0511.jpg

A good thing I like about it is when you get to a point when you lower it, you can still you gravity to close the hood, I like to let it slam down it had nice rubbers and wont damage anything, pushing on top the thin metal to close it will damage it more!

and here is an open and close video a little crap it was done on my iphone (as with all the above pics) and in my own hand.

Just be careful opening it, don't let it slam up the fender braces are only thin and flex around with this kit, hence why I used a nice big washer to spread the load! I use my hand to slow it down in the video when it gets to the top.

So it appears they are the right ones then. The email I got back from them stated that the part number on the units were incorrect and these were for a ralliart colt.

The autobahn website doesn't list everything they do.

We have them listed on our website though if you want to order them.

Cool, thanks - was thinking about searching the forum to add some more things like boost gauge installs etc in the how to do's. Does the bonnet spring up under its own strut power or do you have to give it a helping hand to get it moving?
