Does anyone know if the amount of pressure bar for a radiator cap can cause issues? I saw it somewhere in the Singapore forum, saying a 1.3 bar Radiator cap is too high for our rcolt and will do something negative to the cooling system of the radiator.....is it true?

FYI Info
Just spoken to my mechanic on this. He advises that it will not cause a issue when the 1.3 bar rad cap is put on when the car is still new. The only possible issue with high rad cap pressure, is that it will cause leak to the radiator hosings. However, this will only happen to a old / bad condition hosing where it can't take the extra pressure. As we all know, rubber will harden as it gets older. Therefore, if we let it expand when its still new, it will be fine.
Not sure if you guys get what i mean.....

So what does a higher pressure radiator cap actually do? Any specific effects on turbo and NA?

Basically, its allows your radiator coolant to flow quicker, hence results better cooling. Its effect is the same for both turbo/na.

high pressure cap will make the coolant boiling point higher. because of a higher pressure it will allow you coolant to become hotter which in turns helps disperse heat from the engine block. changing to a higher pressure cap will benifit you only if you have a concentrated coolant mixter and not the standard coolant mixture. but make sure your temp sensors are working correctly, because of the higher pressure the coolant will not boil or become hot enuf to dispers pressure!
