View Full Version : Recaro seat nuts?
Hi all, I'd like to know the thread size (eg. M4, M5) for the dome nuts that secure our recaro seats in place? Thanks

The tread size is M10 x 1.25
Thanks for that info, Raymond6
DAC :)
Trying to secure our recaro seats from theft. Not so easy :|
Due to the fact that mitsubishi has speced our current dome nuts with a thread pitch of 1.25 as opposed to the world standard of 1.5, it makes it impossible to buy any "off the shelf" security type fasteners :(
I guess its all up to you Raymond6... Good luck & please let us know when they ready

Their is one possibility if someone has a centre lathe I can purchase some nuts and modify them the nuts are only $4.50 each the thing is once they are on you need a special spanner to get them off and the spanner cost over $300.
On top of this they have not been tested although the material they are made from is super strong it all depends on how good a thread I can machine tap into them.
So let me know if you have access to a medium to small centre lathe and I will see what I can organise until the testing of my prototype nuts has been completed.
Unfortunately I don't know anyone who has a lathe we could access.
Btw I noticed that the front of the seat uses dome nuts & the rear uses hex head bolts. Is the thread of the hex head bolts also M10 x 1.25?
Do you know the length of the hex head bolts? I might be able to change these to say allen key heads...

that would be better than a 300 tool to buy with these "special" nuts. nutters who steal seats probably wont have a set of allen keys on their person.
