So will these coilovers fit our Australian Ralliart Colts?

This will 100% fit our RColt because there's no 2 different versions of RColt in this world.

To save the confusion of everyone, they call it CVR = Colt Version R in singapore and RVR = Ralliart Ver R in Europe. The only possible confusion is the predecessor model which is called Colt Ralliart.

i dunno a whole lot about suspension. just wondering how other brand s compare with ralliart suspension because i thought that was a good price about 1500$

also what would be the big advantage of just springs compare to full suspension with springs

anyhelp greatly appreciated cheers

I'd ask the question 'why pay $1500 for coilovers when a race team will upgrade it to their standard for $900?'

First ask yourself (and this goes for everyone) "what am I going to do with the car? What do I want the car to do?"

Fast street? National parks(That's my thing)? Track? Drags?

you dont really think the only mod racing teams do to their cars is lowered springs do you?

i think you're all missing the point. someone has done something to their car that others may be interested in, if you have an opinion contrary to what someone else thinks is good to the car and you dont like it, i think its best for you not to say anything at all. obviously fuse has done something that he thinks others may have an interest in and i for one am particularly interested in the NEWS.

Thank you for you post fuse. what are you opinions on the change in ride quality and handling, what settings have you got them on and most of all, where did you get them from and where can i get them?

many questions just shoot, i will try my best to answer.

why i did not buy lower spring instead i change to coil over
ans: lower springs only look nice but they dont work well with the stock absorber because the travel is being reduced. it will kill the shock sooner or later.

so why hks coilover?
ans: hks seldom make junk and this is specially design for our model so why bother buying stuff that are not made for our model and modify to fit it?

i'm on this set of coil over for about 2 months.

after changing into it, i did not feel any much differences in term of ride. even my mrs didnt know it was changed until the bill came in and ops... :D

current setting is 18 click in front and 20 click at the back. this is setup so that the rear is harder to reduce understeering ( i believe)

the coilovers are not cheap but they are serviceable so when it comes to servcing, i will jsut swap back my stock suspension and send this to the workshop to service it.

for brakes and suspension, my take is, what you pay is what you get. brembo , endless stoptec are all not cheap. so are teins

handling:

the new coilovers are better in the confort zone. take pot holes better too.
corning is now much more stable as well.

i would say thsi is money well spent.

Thanks for the vote of confidence there buddy, of course I don't think that. I was just asking the question, If TMR are happy with the setup they've put R&D into why spend the extra $$$? You could get the entire TMR upgrade package for that much cold hard cash cash cash.. cashhh cashhhhhh cashhhhhhhh

Well, i wouldn't dismiss the amount of R&D spend by coilover companies. The coilover company will in fact, get much more business out of their coilover than TMR, hence i wouldn't expect them spending any less R&D time than TMR.

Hey guys,

like what fuse01 mentioned, you pay for a certain quality..but i must emphasize that each coilover brand has their own +points and shelf life...Really, one has to consider the depth of his pockets and the kind of standard he's expecting...

I have been on D2 RS coils since end September and has been satisfied thus far...the only issue is that its stiff...mainly because of the spring ratings and the absorber settings...however, I am numb to the stiffness now...in fact, it feels kinda normal now...BUT when i want the hardcore handling, it performs as I want it to...

One thing good about HKS,CUSCO, D2 and 1 taiwanese brand (BC), which is prominent here,is that they are fullly serviceable and parts are readily available..1 key reason why YR Advance, KW are not so popular is that there are hardly any workshops to support during maintenance...

At the end of the day...its good to give and share costs, field reports and serviceability of whatever brands u have in Australia...for the benefit of the rest...

One thing to note though...Coils & springs cant really be compared as they perform on different platforms...

:) :) :)

JUst gotta remember tho, TMR had to ensure warranty wasnt void and that their product was legal.... HKS, cusco, tein dont have those limitation.

I;ve had both set ups in previous cars and i know one doesnt compare to the other, but with that said, cannot speak fot TMR springs, never used their products.

Honestly i hope tmr suspension set up turns out to be awesome and a better alternative for road use. Only time will tell...

At least aftermarket springs are legal (if made to the proper specs), unlike coil-overs which legally have to have a stop welded in on the thread at the lowest legal road height for our particular car, just another thing to worry about when being tailed by mr plod!

Myself and McCoy have driven the TMR upgraded version and I can say that Alan has done his research well in this aspect. He said they've tested the Ralliart suspension and trial and error many more spring rates and numbers of coils and found that the stock shocks are perfect for street use. Careful attention to design has been put into the TMR springs to compliment the stock shocks. Ride comfort is a little stiffer than std, but the firmer spring rates help stabilize the car in turning hence can carry more speed through the corners (this is where the new power really shines). You can really feel the contact patch where each wheel is at on the road.

A better review when I pick my car up tomorrow.:D
