Ok, i have been thinking about this ever since i got the car, but never have the guts or chance to do it. Was bored last week and decided to do this.

So.....what have i done......

The answer is the interior strips & rings

It begins by giving it a quick wash

Then, apply a layer of plastic primer

Lastly, make a crime scene out of it :)

*NOTE: The paint is 90% perfect. But me ain't satisfy with it. Will attempt a re-do soonish.

thanks.

Basically, the primer is a transparent primer (not the grey colored primer which is more for panel respray) and i only applied one layer.

The hardest bit to take off, is actually the top dash. The first 2 front plug is easy (as shown in one of the thread by Rdster), but the remaining requires more force. I only manage to pull out 4 out of the 6 plugs for the top dask, which is already enough for me to unscrew the centre side strips. The rings are unbelieveably easy. Grip hold on the top, slightly push it downwards and start pulling.

The reason why its glossy like that, is due to the paint i selected.....which it already stated on the can that its a gloss enamel. But because of that, its rather hard to apply onto the plastic, as its meant for metal. Therefore, i tend to give alot of layers to make it look like what it is now. Maybe if i sand the original silver away, it might be easier to apply.....but i'm a total noob in this. Still alot to learn from this.

It looks perfect from the pics, but really still need re-coating to get rid of some minor imperfection.

LOL. That's correct. And you have put in "you are too broke to mod the car and instead feed it with rice" LOL :D

cool! perhaps should prepare the surface by sanding with those sand paper for wood..from your description, its the top dash that needs to be dismantled to remove the front middle 2 strips?? hmm..seriously worth a try..

wow definately adds a touch of excitement to the cockpit. i like a lot...

my initial response was should have done more bits but after looking at it longer that'd be as far as it should be taken.

Agreed ;) The red color is due to the white/red instructment dash that comes with the car. Now, the interior's completed
