Have seen this before on some of the overseas sites, but it is a relatively cheap mod to increase the efficiency of your air-conditioning system and help prevent it from cutting in and out all of the time (does this constantly during summer and is quite noticable). Apparently the section of hose pictured cops a fair bit of heat from the engine/turbo and is the part carrying the already cooled gas back into the cabin to provide cool air. You should be able to pick up some foam to suit at Clark Rubber or somewhere similar and a few cable ties to complete the job. Simple, cheap and worth a try!
