Nice, makes the rcolt looks very good. For some reason, the 2nd pic makes the car looks evoish... :D

Next up, change the light bulb to white and your white rcolt will look perfect.

Hey Whitey,
What make are the springs ? and do you have a before and after shot comparison ?
how much did they set you back, do you have the standard shocks in there and how does it ride now compared to before ?
sorry for all the questions, car looks really aggressive @ that height.
Cheers
Steve

Hey steve-B and killercolt:
The brand is Tanabe but i left the box in my friend's place cause he change it for me,if you really interest it ,i can find out the exact part no, they have normal low and dress up form(super low ),the dress up form which i bought and the springs i measured the front 365mm down to about 325mm ,and the back one is 350mm down to about 300mm,thats roughly figure because its progressive springs ,it could drop liitle more after it settled a few days.
It cost me $230 for the lot, i still have standard shock with tanabe springs and the ride is slightly stiffer ,i was worry about the ride and handling at first place cause i had a corolla sportivo with Kings super low springs and Koni shocks but its handling was poor, but with the Colt R,the handling is much better than i thought, suprising well, of course it bounce a bit cause the suspension stroke has shorten fair a bit with standard shocks but taking into account to pay only $230 ,but paying $2000 -$3000 for a set of coil over ,there may not much difference in compare unless you serious on track,i still can give it to it in a winding road with this set up,hope this can give you some idea about the springs, personally its bargain !

Hi White Horse,

Can you let me know where can I buy the springs?
I'll be interested in the "low".

Cheers,
Jason

Easiest is tuning workshop as they constantly import tuning parts from Jap. Where abouts are you?

Yeah, can't wait to get lower springs. Rang up King Springs and they don't have any for the rcolt, estimate to have some in 6-12 months. The person I spoke to said the normal colt damper is different.

I also checked Whiteline catalogue and can't find any for rcolt :(

That's why I'm very interested in the tanabe mentioned here and $230 is a very good price!!

Do you know of any tuning shops or importer in ADL? I'm pretty sure if you can give them the parts number, they can always get it in for you. If needed, i can look up the parts number for you. Their infos are pretty easy to find.

I don't know any importer but I should able to ask around and get a contact. If you can let me know the part number, that will be great :) I think white horse mention there's a Low and a Super Low. I'm interested in the Low.

Thanks,
Jason

Model: SUSTEC NF210
Part number: Z27ANK
Price: $22,790 (YEN)

Look at the price, if you can get it for $230 AUD, its very good. The price will be as if there's no delivery or service fee for whoever that brings it in for you.

Has anyone else installed these springs?

I have done a search and can only find these springs through japan. Can anyone suggest who may sell them in Sydney?

As mention before, any tuner workshop can get them in. If you want, i can ask a few of my contacts for prices.

That'd be great. It would be easier dealing with someone who is already bringing these products in. Otherwise I'll get someone to deciphre japanese and get it straight from there when I get the car.

Well, you will find none will have ready stock for these. Any source will have to import it upon order.

Anyone knows if just installing springs will void the warranty? Also wont it wreck the shock absorbers if its not changed as well?

warrenty is void after doin springs and as for screwing shocks i doubt it cause people wouldnt install them if they did that. and also any low spring for a normal colt will fit the ralliart

Yes it will wear out your shocks faster, shocks and springs work together. The spring absorbs the impact energy and your shocker dissipates this energy smoothly.
Basically: stiffen the spring = less travel = shock does more work = shock wears out faster.

To maintain optimal performance spring rate should be matched to the dampeners ability and vice versa.

Your best option is always a coilover suspension system if your after handling these are often height adjustable to boot, (and really good ones let you adjust the dampening force too)

If you don't go for or can't afford coilovers then look into geting a short stroke shocker to help prevent bottoming out issues which you will experience if you slap low springs on stock shocks

Technically, whichever area you mod, that area's warranty will be voided. But in reality, they can / might try to void your other warranty claim by relating it to the mods you have....
