I want turbo noise !!!!
Tried a Bailey dump valve, sounded great, even better than my EVO, but lights came on and car died, so went back to original. Will the Blitz induction kit give a noise out ?

Hi Andy, you might want to rephrase your sentence to make it easiler to read.

But from my understand, you are asking if you put on a Blitz induction kit with stock by pass value, would you still get the BOV kinda sound? IMO, you should still hear a BOV kinda sound, but in a different tone. In my previous 200sx, i have a plumb back BOV with a pod filter and i will still hear clearly the BOV releasing sound. However, not sure if it will do the same for a pass by value (which technically works the same as BOV)

Hope this helps

Andy,

Blitz + Collins Performance twin piston BOV is a killer combination.

You can clearly hear your turbo spooling and sucking air, with a very nice BOV sound.

The problem with the Blitz induction kit is the engine light:mad:

I thought the Blitz kit didn't make the engine light come on, and the others did ? I do not want the light on again !
Any ideas ?

I believe someone in the UK CZT Forum has managed to do Blitz induction with no engine light. The trick is, to put a same diameter adapter pipe in replacement of the original pipes.

The reason like lovecolt has said for the same diameter pipe is cause the afm is a certain length, and from what we have read, if you increase the diameter of the pipe the afm reads a problem and reports it to the ecu and the light is then thrown up.

why not just put in the turbosmart bov. proven to work, but u lose some power unless u mod it a little. works like original dumpvalve except it will vent at 4k to 5k rpm after mod.

You got your facts where?

No loss of power from this side of the woods ;)

well if you put the original valve and TS valve back to back testing you will notice you loose boost when in fifth gear 80 kmh to 100 kmh

the TS valve fully tighten does feel very much like the original but not good enough... it needs a little more tension... to complete the job.

That's correct.

In simple words we have,

Blitz's adaptor (57mm diameter) = serious gains in horsepower but engine light.

Stock adaptor (53mm diameter) = much less gains in horse power, and no engine lights.

Thats with the Euro Colt CZT. Some say that in VersionR Colts there is no problem with the engine light because the ECU is a little bit different.
Can someone with a Version R and Blitz ΚΙΤ, verify this?

Hi, Just ordered the blitz induction as they tell me the new one is ok, no engine light. i will try this 1st, if all ok, i'm going to get the 'forge' dump valve also.

Andy, could you tell me from where you've got this info about Blitz?
Be careful... IF the solution is two small pieces of metal ,placed at the adaptor of the kit, then it is tested in Greece and it didnt go well. No engine lights BUT NO gains in horse power. Look here for some photos

I hope they found out a better solution.

Hi, I fitted the new 'blitz' kit, it works fine and sounds good, no engine lights come on, it feels faster, may be in my head ! I also have just fitted a 'forge' dump valve, just need to adjust it now as there is no rule on what settings to do it on, will let you know if any problems develope as there is no engine light it all looks ok !

The easiest way to test engine light, is to do quick acceleration where boost spike will occur (due to watever mods) and cause engine lights.

Did you get a dyno done before you did the mods? It would be really interesting to see if/where these mods are making an affect.

I did not do a dyno, all i wanted it to do realy is sound 'alive' and noisier, it does feel faster, i will do a dyno one day. Do they do group booking days here to get a cheaper price?

Not sure about in Euro, but in Aus, there's always alot of dyno days (group booking) where you do get 3 - 5 runs for $AUD50. BTW, do you have the parts number for the new blitz intake?

Hi,
The model # for the blitz induction kits is 26076, i got it from fensport in cambs, UK for £202.
You have to bend and drill the fixing plate as it is not quite right, but its not hard to do and works/fits ok. I left the old air intake pipe in ate the front, it says remove it in the intructions, but it must help get more air to the engine at the back, so i think it helps.

We have dyno days on the Gold Coast where we pay like $10 for 3 runs with printout etc. Just be sure to turn your ASC off before you hit the dyno, took us 20 minutes for my engine to want to start again because the ECU shut it down when we got it on the dyno.

I went on a long run to adjust the dump valve like the guy in the shop told me to but you can't do it easy as you can't tell if its the dump valve 'hissing' or the ind. kit. I didn't get any lights on and the car still goes ok, the only problem is if you lift off the gas it seems to decelarate with a 'clunk' only for a split second but it feels like you have hit the brake for one second. I will keep adjusting and hope for the best. Like i say it's not a problem for one second of it but i may try to get rid of it.

Hey Andy,
I think you might find that it is the ind kit that makes the engine react like that. Its abit hard to explain, but ive had many ind kits that make the engine react this way, if you swap it back it will stop, it has something to do with the way the air "usually" comes into the engine, and now how it comes throu with the new filter. The "dump" valve alterations wont make it go away.

Andy what type is the Forge bov, open or close?

Hi, The people that sold it to me say it's because the spring is up to tight, i will put it to two clicks and have a run, thanks for advice, will let you know.

The valve is a RS recirculation type, 34mm, model # fmrsr.

I fitted the induction kit and the Forge recirc dump valve, £400 for both and they are great, no problems so far.
