Firstly, do not use a screwdriver or any other metal tool to wedge between the door panel or the door itself.

The best tool to use for this application is a plastic (kitchen) spatchel, or a piece of plastic that has a wedge profile.

1. Remove philips head screws from door opener and inside of door closer.

2. The door panel is attached to the door by 11 plastic fasteners. The best
starting point would be the bottom front of the door, as indicated in the
image.Pull the door trim away slightly from the door and slide in the plastic
wedge.Keep sliding the wedge until you her a 'pop'.

3. Slide the wedge along the bottom of the door trim, and do the same again.

4. Once you have 'popped' a few of the bottom fasteners, you can now reach
you fingers under the door trim, and pull it up towards yourself. The rest of
fasteners will now pop easily.Remember, do not use too much force.

5. Now look down between the door trim and door. You will see 2 cables at the
top of the trim, and a wiring harness located in the middle of the door trim.
Remove the wiring harness first by locating the catch on the end of the
harness, and pushing it in.Now pull it out of the socket. The 2 cables are
a little tricky to remove...
At the ends of the cables, you will see 2 green clasps.Look at the clasp
closely.Pull the clasp up away from the cable. They are extremely tight, and
can break easily if care is not taken.
When you have removed both clasps, you now need to remove the cables
from their anchor points on the door trim.Remember exactly where the
cables are placed on their anchor points, as they need to be reattached
the exact same way as they came off.

6. Place the door trim down on a soft surface so it doesn't get damaged.

7. Reverse instructions for reinstallation.

The hole left by the speaker is 130mm

Disclaimer: This is a guide only.If damage occurs during this procedure, you have applied too much force, and therefore, I am not responsible!:)

Nice set of instructions & pics, Rdster :D

I'll be using this one day when I get around to swapping out my 2 front speakers. Just need to find some time...

i did it the other day, to check out the stock speaker holes.

You can replace speakers with out dissconnecting the locking cables in them green clips.

You will need to make up some spacers.

You MAY need to trim off some of the door trim where the speaker sits, there is a large round baffle.

The hole is very deep before it gets to the window, i tested my diamond audio mid bass driver in there and there was plenty of clearence behind the magnet, and they are fairly deep drivers.

i have added pics to make it easier for the newbies - like myself!

Firstly, do not use a screwdriver or any other metal tool to wedge between the door panel or the door itself.

The best tool to use for this application is a plastic (kitchen) spatchel, or a piece of plastic that has a wedge profile.

5. Once you have 'popped' a few of the bottom fasteners, you can now reach
you fingers under the door trim, and pull it up towards yourself. The rest of
fasteners will now pop easily.Remember, do not use too much force.

The locations of all the plugs are shown here:

6. Looking completely from underneath the door trim, remove the wiring harness first
by locating the catch on the end of the harness, and pushing it in.
Now pull it out of the socket:

from their anchor points on the door trim.Remember exactly where the
cables are placed on their anchor points, as they need to be reattached
the exact same way as they came off.

8. Now once everything is disconnected, the door trim should be able to be taken right off.

9. Place the door trim down on a soft surface so it doesn't get damaged.

10. Reverse instructions for reinstallation.
