This is an old one, but just to kick start this folder.

Do you believe them, these guys actually think Swifit Sport is better!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The reviewer's colt review was slightly tainted by his previous experience of the Evos he had driven before. About the conering ability, the Colt was always going to lose out over the swift due to the higher center of gravity, pure and simple, no amount of electronic driver assistance can really fix that. Also a bit hard testing in a 300kms old RColt to really know its true potential.
The rest is really up to the individual's choice. As a whole package though, I don't think the review was really comparing apples with apples. Personally, I'd be happy to drive both cars. But one had to choose and my choice was the Ralliart Colt! :D

I think the review is pretty spot on, except for a few things. First of all, the Swift Sport will and never has the same or near the rear seat space of our RColt. I can't believe a journalist actually comment on something that is so obvious and so wrong if you even sat in both. This makes me doubt his credibility. Secondly, do the journalist even know how to do a simple math add up?? If you look at all the points that each car do, in each section, one can easily sum up that Colt wins. And yet the final verdict is Swift = 4, Colt = 3.5??? WTF.
I think one most important thing that motor journalists misses out on every single review, is the judging of the car built quality / engineering involved to justify the selling cost. In the review, they mentioned about how RColt's overpriced and the $6K difference can literally made a Swift Sport a much capable hatch...... For any one who has inspected a Swift Sport, do you know that i can literally blend the door panel with 1 finger? I'm not joking, but thats how poorly or cheaply built by Suzuki. And according to the Suzuki forum (redlinegti), most of the Swift Sport has wheel alignment issue brand new from factory. Some even developed interior rattle as little as under 1000km on the clock...........
I think i better stop my comments on the Swift Sport, which will make me seems bias to our RColt. But seriously, my comments are based on real life experience plus the mouth of some actual Swift Sport owners. I think what i'm trying to say is, you get what you paid for? And i concur with Sili, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
have a look see on you tube there is a test/race of the colt swift some honda and something else colt at the back takes its time to get past as its a tight track then just getts to open up and leave the others behind

You know what, i am certain the CVR delibrately hold back to make the clip more entertaining. Only in the final lap did he show the car full potential and win the race. So technically i dont think its a true race.
There's no way the other makes can even come close to CVR raw power!

I got that whole eps in DVD quality. Its Honda Jazz via Suzuki Swift Via Daihatisu Boon via Ralliart Colt. You are right about the RColt taking its own sweet time to get pass the rest. In actual fact, the RColt driver's playing around with the rest at the beginning and overtake at the last lap. Also, if you look at the laptime of each, RColt is 2 seconds ahead of all others.

I sat in a Swift Sport at the motor show and was pretty shocked at how cheap it felt, so shocked in fact I got out of it in a hurry. The clutch pedal just fell to the ground and the gearshift felt crap.
But this review has me a little more interested in the handling aspect of the Swift.
Each to their own but I love love love a car that handles well. I mean... I even bought a "gay/hairdresser" MX-5 convertible only because the handling was meant to be amazing and too right it was so I'm more than happy to make a few sacrifices for better handling as it's high on my list of priorities.

I think the suzu seems more stable to the reviewer at cornerings because it enter and exit the bends at slower speed! muahahaha...

i test drove the suzu and it was pretty good.
gear shift is very positive and clutch is smooth and the steering is good.
i ahve yet to test the colt R ... but i see a issue with the thick A pillar and table long console.

i'm pretty sure the Swift will be better in the cornering.
You will find the only bad thing about RColt, is its bodyroll due to its high center gravity and lack of rear sway bar.
And yes, the thick A pillar sometime can be quite blocking. But i guess once you get used to it, you don't really even need to look through the A pillar to judge the distance. Table long console :D I find it pretty useful actually. You can play card games on it, can change diaper for your baby and etc .... LOL
Well this latest review should balance things up :D
