Anyone got any info on the 07 model colts

Hey all,

im kinda getting jerked around a lot by mitsubishi lately. since my colt didnt come with the sunglass holder ceiling install.

i have been chasing this up madley for the last 3 months, parts were comming from Japan to be installed. Now ive been told that the roof was modifed and the bracket is different and i will never have the roof with the sunglass holder as it will not fit.

Apparently the dealers were supposably informed that 07 models come without this feature.. yet i was not told about this.

Going to writing a letter etc soon and maybe taking legal action with fair trading etc.

Has anyone else purchased a NEW or 07 model ralliart colt and noticed the roof difference? all the current brochures still state it comes with one. want to make sure they are not making this shit up.

As far as i know, there's no updated version of the RColt. What i suggest you, is to call up Ralliart helpline instead of talking to Mitsubishi Dealers.

I've never even used my sunglass holder :p My sunnies are too big for it.

i know it must be important, but if it was SO important to you mate you should of talked to the dealer / shopped around to see why they are different. If the dealer promised you it would have one, and said they would get it in for you, bar having it in writing they dont actually have any legal obligation to you. I have had great and bad experiences with mitsy. With my colt nothing but niceities, but a mate bought a lancer at the same time, was promised tints and matts, got neither and when he questioned them, the shirted the idea and said they never agreed to anything of that.
So maybe if mitsy said they would help you, quiz the person that did. The only other option is to get an 06 model roof lining with the sunglass part. which is going to be a pain in the ass, long winded and probably will Not be worth the hassle man.

Ahh seriously 07 colts have no sunglass holder???

If this is true, then that sucks big time. This kind of cost cutting happened to the micra in the micra-late 1990's also. They worked out that they were losing money on the early models, then the latter models came with some useful features stripped out purely to cut costs. Bah!!!

But then again, it means your rcolt is very suitable for a sunroof. Pity about the sunglass holder, I find mine very useful.

as for fitting the MY06 roof lining it is not possible with the MY07 models as the spot welding and bracket has been changed.

what is odd is that it is built dec 06, but is classed as an MY07 model.

ahwell, i just hope it wont affect my resale value of the car.

anyways i am going to see if i can manage some compromise, the dealer who sold me the car said there would be no differences.

mitsu aus told me to speak directly to the Dealer principal in regards to the matter, because it has been ongoing for like almost 4 months now.

my friend who was a car dealer i have spoken to him on the matter and he is well knowlegded with the fair trading act.. usually on the recieving end so he is going to help me out if needed.

Yes, its true. All Version-R from 2007 doesn't come fitted with the sunglass/card holder. Also another difference is, the mounting of your side mirror. For 2007 models, the mounting are all unpainted black plastic, whereas 2006 models, the plastic facing outside is colour coded whereas the plastic facing the back is unpainted black plastic.

There's already a discussion on the differences between the 2006 and 2007 models at the Singapore forum. Basically, only the above two differences.

Doesn't matter, either one can fit. Its only whether you want it painted or unpainted.
