HKS LEGAL Muffler for Z27AG -> Disappointing

Today HKS released a muffler for the Z27AG. The muffler is from the LEGAL lineup which is meant for standard replacement.

A look at the launch document revealed that its the same muffler RALLIART has for the Version-R.

ie, not a catback and not even a straight thru. So we had confirmed the rumour that the RALLIART muffler indeed was made by HKS.

I went to HKS Technical Factory Singapore yesterday to clarify on the exhaust issue.

The HKS Silent HiPower Muffler for Version-R is a special order request from HKS Technical Factory Singapore for Singapore market and still awaiting mass production. Was told of the high demand on HKS exhausts coz they're still waiting for an order of 30+ WRX exhausts.

Also heard that they're now processing the exhaust orders for Toyota VIOS (dunno you've it here or not), which the exhausts will be release to the market somewhere in Jul. After that will be the exhausts for our car.

Are you referring to the LEGAL Muffler? No, its not going to be that crap. Its Silent HiPower, ie, those straight thru cannon ball style.

Yes, only the muffler. Coz market is small for the COLT compared to the FIT. So most probably we won't get a turbo back or catback.

But good news once again. I went down to HKS Technical Factory Singapore again this morning enquiring on my front mount intercooler project. They told me they have contact to do mandrel bending.

Once the Silent HiPower is here, I'll fit it up with my stock exhuast system. I'll then loan them my Tanabe straight thru center pipe and the locally fab straight thru downpipe. They'll get their contacts to fabrical a striaght thru turbo back exhaust system to match the HKS Silent HiPower, material will be SUS304 (same material used by Japanese exhaust manufacturers) and bend will be done using mandrel bending method.
