As all rcolt owner's aware, our headlights ain't projector style, hence be pretty deadly for whoever's driving in front of us. But i realised that Japan has the projector styled headlights. I wonder if we can get a Jap headlight and fit into ours.

I wonder why they switch the lights for Aussie Market.
We using the same JDM ones here. Perhaps you can source it here in a few months time when there's more CVR on the streets and its closer to home, literally for you! :p

Of course you can. The wirings and connectors are already there. Just buy the projector lamp assembly, ballast and D2S HID bulb and plug and play.
Previous me driving a COLT before my Version-R. Also did the conversion. See below for pic :D

But its not cheap. The original Mitsubishi ballast already around SGD 700+ or 1k, can't really remember. So in the end, I did abit of rewiring and use H1 bulb to shine thru the projector instead.

WOW Ting! Where did you get that bumper? Or at least the corner splits to the bumper? We have the same bumper on our Euro.T but the license plate distance is different. But the corner splits should fit our too I beleive :D
The eyelid, have you molded it with the bonnet? Can't see the line
EDIT: Can you give me the part.no for the projector lights?

Yo brother, the car in the pic was my previous ride, the bumper is stock with it. The corner splits you referring to are the RALLIART Sports Front Airdam, Part No. RT120420-29 (last 2 digits are the colour code), JPY 48,090.
Check it out below.
http://www.poweraxel.com/ralliart/catalogue/new_colt/4.html
I believe it wil fit too, but RALLIART items cost a bomb
I did nothing to the eyelid. The eyelid is on top the headlight therefore not flush with the bonnet. I took the pic squating down so it looks like its moulded with the bonnet.
I dun have the part no. with me yet. Will get it the next time I visit my local Mitsubishi parts dealer. The projector headlamp does not come with the HID ballast, HID bulb and all the necessary plastic bulb covers and its rubber gaskets. All have to be individually ordered.

I've found a dealer for Ralliart in Sweden... about the color code... can't you get it without? My color is called X19... should the two last color only be 19?

It would be nice to know the Mitsubishi part numbers for these. Please tingtw let us know.
Is there any possibility that the Japanese dealer can ship to Europe?

Hello brother, you still can order it without the colour code. Problem is, you got to respray it again. Maybe you can check with your dealer whether can you order it unpainted.
I'll pay a visit to my local RALLIART.PIT to check the part no. for the unpainted.
Wait for my good news.

Once you got the part no., you can order it thru your local Mitsubishi parts dealer.

So far have anyone managed to get the projector headlight assembly? Is it true we cant just add on something to convert the reflector into a projector? It's not fair Honda Jazz have the entire projector retrofit for A$700! There are more parts for the Jazz/Fit range.

No idea about anyone getting the assemby, but its not surprising that Jazz/Fit has so much more parts than us. They are afterall, one of the most popular small hatch around.

I think thats just because they have been around for a long time...a lot longer than the Colt.

Here's probably one of the reasons why....

I'm still pretty sure there is a huge population of colts around the world...although not as many as Jazz but it's a market still!

Not sure if anyone still interested. I have found source for complete CVR HID projector lamp setup (inclusive of casing, light bulbs, wiring, Control Unit/ballast etc...)
One unit (per side) will cost around AU$750~780 before shipping. Maybe can get cheaper if there are more orders.

if its 1400AUD all up for both sides, full assemblies and all the HID components I would be keen. Because projector is better than reflector, i have seen some reflector HID's and they are very very bad.

If you think the factory lights aren't good enough, just dump the useless fog lights and fit a pair of projector spots in their place.
Here in Oz, I have yet to experience fog that is bad enough to make fog lights any use. REAL fog, i.e. like in the UK, could be so bad that you would have to drive at walking pace and could only see a few feet in front of the car - or less. That's when fog lights are supposed to be used - they only light up the area just in front of the car.
Ideally, if you fit spot lights, they should be wired through the fog light switch but supplied from the main beam circuit, so that they only operate on main beam.
This could be done for a few hundred bucks or even less if you wire them up yourself.

According to the part manual, the whole lamp assembly is under 1 part number. Of course, there are individual part numbers for all the breakdown parts respectively.
The only thing I can't confirm now is shipping charge. Due to the sizable box, the volumetric charges maybe higher than actual weight.

For someone living in the country, they're constantly used every night...for someone living in the city they are basically useless...unless ur one of those people that think its cool to turn them on during the day...usually referred to as a "wanker"!

Eh? So it's seriously foggy every night where you live?
You're joking, right?
I've lived in the country north of Canberra for eight years, and never yet seen fog bad enough to need fog lights.

Have you already been in contact with your Singapore counterpart? I'm going back to Malaysia at the end of the year. I might just pop over there and handd carry it back to Melbourne.

Certainly not everynight in Wbool, in fact rarely in W'bool, but drive about half an hr towards melbourne and u'll hit it (fog & mist) every night during the winter...the weather down this way is all over the shop...and back in Albury (Where i grew up) we'd have frosts most nights during the winter. If its a clear cold night, then ur likely to get fog and frost. At least from my (lack of)experience.

HID is available for the Colt,
it is an option in Japan
comes in a 8K kit
Steve-B

do you have a price for the HID ?
are the headlights and HID kit separate ?
cause at the mo we have the reflector headlights, not projector like in japan.
