Hi there,
I'm currently looking at either a Ralliart Colt or Polo GTI. Have driven both (briefly) and at the moment am leaning towards the Colt.
I've had a look through the forum here and there does not seem to be a thread with common faults (maybe this is a good thing!). The VW Polo forum has a thread like this and it has some rather alarming issues. Quite a few gear box problems, strange clunkings from the front ends, noisy clutches, etc.
Have you guys experienced any issues with your cars?
Thanks!

I have a noisy clutch and a bit of a gearbox clunk but i'm not too worried about it.
I can tell you now if you get a Polo and don't get it chipped, you will be deeply dissapointed when I fly past you :p I raced my mates chipped Polo and he only just got half a car length in front, then he put it in stock mode and I absolutely mauled him.

To our knowledge, there isn't much issue with our RColt. Everything is built pretty solid.
As mentioned by 27AME, the only possible issue we might face, is a noisy gearbox. However, this has been brought upon to Steve Bell (Ralliart Manager of Aus) yestersday at Dutton Rally NSW round. He concur that it should be a thrust bearing issue as suggested by Raymond6. As they have just changed a brand new clutch on the Dutton Rally RColt before NSW round, he will go back and look at it. Should there be a real issue, a warranty job is definitely on the card.
If you have any more queries on RColt, feel free to PM me or post up more questions here.

Hey Peter. Mate i hope you find the car that your after. BTW i saw Rcolts advertised for 26000+ orc which im guessing you would get off. If you do get one we will have to go for a mountain run as im dying to see how the colt goes up the mountain

What are you doing in here Shaneth? :p
I have to make a good decision with all this as I'll have the car for a few years and be in it for 2 and a half hours a day!

Hmmmmm 2 and a half hours a day? Man, I don't like to say it but those seats are pretty unforgiving. I reckon I'd have a sore back if I sat in them for that long.
If its 2 and a half hours spread over the day then that would be fine.
