Hi Guys,
First of all welcome to all the new Vic members. (yes I'm lazy and created a thread as opposed to saying welcome in each new memebers thread :p )
Thought it would be good to get a thread going of who's an active RColt member in Vic with possibly a rough description of their RColt and general location
As far a meet up goes, I'm free most weekends, but for Sat mornings I need a fair bit of notification.
If we want to meet up before the end of the year, I'm only frer before the week of the 19th December (Out of the country till early Jan).
I'll Start off with myself:
Name: Matt
Location: Western Suburbs - Deer Park Area
RColt Details
Year: 06 (Recaros ftw)
Colour: Gunmetal Grey
Mods: HID's, RColt.com stickers (good for 20 kw ;) ), pretty much stock otherwise.
EDIT: Forgot the mention the year

Name: Al.
Location: Box Hill
Car: '08 RColt (Silver)
Mods: None - yet.
I'm up for a meet on weekends too, but not too late because I'm old man and worn out by work :p
I check this great forum maybe once a week so need some advance notice if there's any 'let's cruise tonight?' threads.
But yeah totally agree we need more happening in Vic :)
(I'm also not available Sat 12th Dec, but Sunday 13th I'm free and will suit at least three of us!!).
May I propose a quick meet Sunday 13th? Should a new thread be started? How does one do that???
can do sundays (later the better), would be great to take some pics of a few rcolts together, and better still a group of them all going for it through some twisties.

How quick of a meet are we talking?
I drive a stock off the show room floor 09 black colt.
I have recently 'misplaced' my front left lower plastic skirt, It is in the bush somewhere, that's what you get for hanging the back out on long dirt corners :| so i might make the photos look 'Ghetto'
I live 2 hours from Melbourne so the trip would want to be worth it, which im sure it would.
Sunday suits me.

I'm good for Sunday morning, and my car is stock standard at the moment too (it will be great if we can many Rcolters together like in Perth)
Maybe we can meet halfway, perhaps I can meet with the other Eastern Suburb Rcolters and we run a convoy towards your direction?
Which direction are you heading from?
Will anyone else be taking kids?
No kids myself ( way to go to steal attention away from our Rcolts!! ;)).

I live in Maryborough, so either from ballarat or bendigo as i am in the midde, about 50 min from both.
But since there seems to be a fair few EOI, i might try and stay at a mates place in Werribee if thats close to anything/anyone? Forgive me i don't know Melbourne all that well, but i do have a gps.
I might bring either my gf or a mate, but he would probably want to bring his sti wrx, and we can't have that!
I'm only a kid myself, so no little tackers for me.

Hey guys, im free for sunday 13th. i live south eastern suburbs, bendigo or ballarat is fine for me, i just wanna go somewhere on a nice cruise thats got some nice places to stop off, see and mainly hot spots to photgraph!!!:)
Let me know and ill be there.
bendigo or ballarat is probably a bit far for me - anywhere closer? hmmmm i think there's probably some good backdrops for photos at docklands?
hmmmm i think there's probably some good backdrops for photos at docklands?
Yes, nice cityscape for dawn/dusk photography, weather permitting of course!
How about meeting at Melbourne Airport Tullamarine? From there it's a short drive down the freeway to the city if we want to parade outside Docklands, and although it's not halfway to Wallan or Marysborough, I think it's a fair compromise, location wise to most interest parties (Wallan, Deer Park, eastern suburb guys, Marysborough!!!).
It will be our first meet & greet for a majority of us who are new to the rcolt forum, let alone a "unique car-owner/ enthusiast club type meet", so we all differ with our preconceived ideas of what the meet will consist of on our initial gathering.
Let's meet up before the end of this decade, it's on my to do list!
hrmmm is there actually anywhere to park at the airport without attracting lots of attention?
i'm a cheapo and don't have/use an etag so avoiding citylink would be preferable

More money to burn on fuel Julz?
Yeah i was only giving you guys an idea of where im comming from, you guys meeting me half way is not really appropriate were, by the sounds of it, there should be a fair few of us meeting up. Im down for meeting where ever there is some good photo back drops / exciting roads.

Hey all,
From the majority of posts, it seems sunday 13th is the best, and that people would like to travel to the city for some meet & greet / photos, and maybe head off somewhere closeby (1hr or so drive) from the city and put a few k's on the odometer over some lunch at a nice spot. My suggestion is mount dandenong, as those from the west / north can use eastern fwy to get home, and its probably the closest place thats got some really nice cruisy roads (and some fun corners :)) thats within a reasonable distance from city (looked north and west of city on google maps and mount macedon would prolly be the next best thing) within a reasonable distance from CBD.
Let me know what you think as sunday will be here sooner than we think, and id love to have one last vic hoorah for the year.
So if what ive suggested caters (more or less) for everyone, let me know and we'll start organising where we'll meet up for shots, lunch and a finsh destination / time. I reckon 11.30am meet up at CBD somewhere would be a good time for everyone!
Let me know guys, all the best.

Im sitting at about 75% ;)
I'm 90+%, no other plans or commitments so a day out cruising and meeting fellow owners sounds good to me.
I hope it rains for the rest of the week because my pony is filthy - has a snow leopard type pattern of dirt everywhere.
Julz - are your tires not suitable for the wet?

yeah the fronts aren't going to be much good in the wet unfortunately. Dry weather is always safer to drive :)
also hope it doesn't rain as i just washed my car yesterday :P
also hope it doesn't rain as i just washed my car yesterday :P
I was going to wash my car yesterday too but I saw the forecast for Melb will be cloudy with chance of rain for the whole week coming up so I didn't bother :)
The last time I washed the car was probably 3 weeks ago.
Do we need to be clean for the meet?
Well I hope I get the rain, and you get clear skies :)

Hey we will be there 100% just let us know the time and the place, almost any where is good for us have you guys been to yarra bend in Kew? Mt Macedon sounds awsome. Just 1 more idea might be impossable for some so close to christmas a night time cruise to check out the christmas lights head to Elwood or St kilda esplinard if the weather is good, quite a few hot cars get down there on nice nights.

Sounds like good numbers for EOI, we need to pick a place fairly soon, not to mention any route for a cruise.
How busy would Docklands be on a Sunday? Victoria Harbour Promenade carpark? (only a suggestion)

Yes I too would like to reinforce the 'no hooning' etiquette on the roads for our meet.
If all goes well this meet then maybe a track/skidpan day in the future (also on my to do list) so people can do it there in a controlled environment :).
I got no objections about the videocamera coming along, but I do insist on reviewing any footage prior to publication on the web :)
Yes, will definitely PM you guys on Saturday to do final confirmations.
Excellent!

yep I agree with the no video posting on the web unless there's some way of blacking out the plates.
Also with photos it would be appreciated if you could black out the plates before posting them online. If you don't know how to black out the plates in photos I'd be happy to do it for you :)
Please PM me your phone numbers too when you confirm thanks!

The Toyo 225*45*16s did the trick. The standard 205*45*16s were always way under for me, the new size tyres are perfect according to the Scangauge and the GPS.

I agree, it was a really fun day! Thanks to everyone for making such a fantastic effort... Well worth it. It was a pleasure to meet ya'll... Everyone was so friendly and it wasn't awkward at all. I have been to some meets in the past where there were some pretty poor attitudes with awkward moments so it was a great experience for me.
Yeah, when we were driving through the city we were turning heads left/right and center. hahaha
I really look fwd to the next meet up/cruise! Hope ya'll got home safely... :)
Cheers,
Sal
thanks everyone for turning up and making it a great day! It was good to meet everyone and sit back and chat in person. I'll be sorting through the photos I took today and uploading them to a private album so please PM me your email address and I'll forward the link to you once I've got them up.
I'll black out the number plates before I upload any photos publicly.
I'm looking forward to the next meet - hopefully something in February.
Cheers,
Julian

da yellow one looks hot.
there's a yellow one?
what's with the mental reflections on the black one? it's bugging me for some reason
yellow one is on the first page :)
yeah the reflections on the black colt are from the HDR process - a technique that uses multiple photos, in this case 3 photos, and combines them to produce images with more dynamic range.
