Hey Guys,
Just got back from alto mitsubishi. They are @ gordon. Talked to Ali there who is the new service and parts advisor, he and steve bell are putting together a new colt and a new colt catalogue / brochure due out within the next week. They have new colt parts that we havent even seen, including carbon fibre dash parts, side skirts, twin exhaust rear diffusers, and are bringing in all the colt jap parts we have. I gave him my number and he was really excited when informed about the website and said he will get me the infomation, numbers and prices off all parts and the colt catalogue as soon as they are finished.
Also see my members ride thread for parts I got off them....
Cheers
Steve

That's great news, Steve..... But i tend to hold back abit on the things he mentioned for the fact that all these things are not in Ralliart catalogue / Mitsubishi Jap Site / seem on any Jap RColt owners' blog.

But obviously, if there's new parts, i would love to see it.

well ali said that they are all ralliart parts, and would not dis our warranty, and if we want any aftermarket parts installed, they will do them and include them under our factory warranty so they wont void it. Sounded sweet to me. ( pls dont take that as fitting a gt35 / 40 turbo on there will be facotry approved, use your heads ) but he was really straight up, pretty keen to see these new parts. The new parts will be showcased on the new colt promo car they are putting out at the same time.

Any ideas on outputs from the Ralliart ECU? I'd say it has to give us atleast 130kW+ and over 300nM? As seen on the Brabus forfour?

hey 27ame,
mate im not sure, i was just as suprised to hear it. I could call ali up and ask him but i left his bis card @ home, can look up the number and give him a call for you if you want more info. but it sounded pretty sweet, as MRT are taking their time coming back with theirs, and if we can get a factory backed and warranted updated ecu, i think i'll be going for that.
I know the MRT 1 is as well, but this one is made my ralliart, for ralliart cars.

Yeah I guess it all just depends hey.

I would think though that to get our money worth, it would have to be atleast 130kW, 300nM + because that is what the Brabus forfour has (same engine). I'd dare say the Brabus would be down tuned also.

yeh steve they do look similar to our rcolts.. they share pretty much the same engine, wheelbase, and architecture!

if you read some reviews on it they say quite similar things about how it drives and so on..

pretty much the same engine? It is the same engine!

You'll be interested to know that I just found a Race prepped Brabus Forfour (shows the engine bay and our engine is still in there - the car is a concept though) that comes equipped with 154kW and 300nm +.I think you'll be suprised at what our engine can be built to produce. I hope the getrag and the ZF-Sachs clutch hold up :P

27ame - it isn't the exact same engine because it doesn't have the same output does it?? that was what i was saying

Oh - Same engine - different ECU I think. That's what I'm lead to believe. Unless the internals are different (doubtful) or it runs more boost or something, the actual engine is identical to ours (minus the mitsubishi engine cover).

this would be very cool if ther were som ecu stuff coming out, 130kws should be fair easy wit the 1.5L i mean its got to be some what the same as the evo 9 motor does it not. and its got what around 206kws and they are easy to get more and the colts motor would be less tuned to begin with. i want to see colt pulling around 150kws that would be 1 quick car

Here's all the performance parts that Ralliart has to offer RColt (Link (http://www.poweraxel.com/ralliart/catalogue/colt_version-r/index.html))

Otherwise, Team Mitsubishi Ralliart in Australia's offering suspension/boost upgrade. (link (http://www.rcolt.com/showthread.php?t=1536))

There would be more performance parts on offer if it weren't for the fact that tuners are more interested in the mass produced cars such as the Evo's and Rex's - unfortunately since the rcolt has been sold in reasonably low numbers, the interest just isn't there - or at least has been put in a low priority category. There still was word from Alan Heaphy that something was in the pipeline RE the ECU, but we just know what the time line is for this.

I guess all we can do is put pressure on local performance part manufacturers to speed up development of the desired items (ECU flash, sway bars etc.).

Personally I'm looking to get a more efficient custom intercooler made up to fit into the stock position - bit like the ARC item but minus the rediculous price tag.:)

It can be done, but may not be as easy.

You will require new pipes going up to the rubber 90 deg bend, and a new pipe going back.

I would build one the same size but alot thicker, thats the only area you could improove.

But i think a center fmic would work better with a little design put into where the pipes go.

Just an update on further developments for the rcolt from Alan Heaphy (TMR).

Chris

I am pleased your Colt is going well. As yet we do not have any further
updates for the Ralliart Colt, however I have an overseas trip planned for
the middle of next month that may give me some information on possible
further upgrades.
I will keep you informed on what the out come is when I return.

Kind regards

any update on the new rcolt catalog that Steve Bell is doing?

lovecolt
11-08-2008, 10:42 PM
Doubt there's any catalog at all. Steve Bell never mention to me about this before on every occasion when we met up with each other. I'm pretty sure if there's one happening, he will be more than excited to call me about it ;)
