Well, this is certainly a interesting news. Just imagine what it would be like for a 2 car race where 1 wanted out......
At least the good news is, they might bring back Jap Sport Car series or allow other makes to join the V8 race. Either way, its good news and i do hope ford pull out :D

i highly doubt that they will, in australia its still a case of race on the weekend and off to work on weekdays factor. this is a selling point for the V8's nowdays.
but if you haven't noticed ford don't have V8's in their car lineup's, and a while ago they interview one of fords managers in australia and he said that the V8 would be practicle for ford as it would need to throw lots of R&D money to produce a performing V8 to compare with its rivals Holden which in turn is only still using the LS1, LS2 and L3's which are the original V8 blocks used in the late 1970's
Gorman says V8 Supercars racing should be careful of biting the hand that feeds it and that this uniquely Australian form of motor sport should race for its loyal fans in Australasia rather than internationally. The sole race in China was a disaster, and last year's inaugural event in Bahrain was largely ignored by the locals.
Australia's motorsports rules are outdated, bias and contrary to real racing - Which allows for true development and technological advancement. They are only interested in putting up a show for a selective intended audience.
BTCC, JGTC or Super Production GT would trump and taunt what we practice down under not only in technology, speed and performance. But consistency, and reliability. Check the laptime of a V8 supercar going around the track with a JGTC car on the same track under the same conditions, one drives rings around the other shamelessly.
