Thought it was time to post some shots of my little colt. At the mo she's a stock 06' built (08' complied) silver Ralliart Colt. Got the Recaros in the front and done bout 16,000 km.

http://i617.photobucket.com/albums/tt254/powers_au/DSC_0127copy.jpg
Ive only put some colour matched Ralliart logos on the windscreen and on the side skirts. But i have a few mods currently in transport on their way to my house:
X1 RPW Cat Back exhaust with Magnaflow muffler.
X1 RPW Front pipe
X1 K&N pannel filter
X3 Saber electronic gauges (Boost, Air Fuel, Oil Temp)
(about $1.5K for the lot- More pics in a few weeks when they are all on)
Ive fitted a battery box in the boot for future relocation of the battery. and Im currently working on building a Carbon Fibre panel for the centre of the dash to hold the gauges.
Down the track:
- Maybe put another hose into the air box (after moving the battery). or get a Pod filter and make up some sort of air box/ deflector/ heat shield from sheet metal or carbon fibre.
- Im keen to do the FMIC. Might go the XR6 IC or see if a Nissan side mount will fit- Id like to keep stock pipes.
- BOV- since i got the car, Ive wanted a Turbosmart dual port bov, but cant really justify $460 for a noise. cant find one cheaper round Adelaide so might wait till i can get one 2nd hand.
- YR Solenoid.
Much later down the track:
- ECU & Boost control.
- Dump Pipe
- Exhaust Manifold

u myt be in luk, im gettin a new GFB blow off valve on tuesday, so im gettin rid of my TS one, just trying something new, but on to the topic, looks like ur car will end up lookin cool, i wanna get the gauge middle thingy ur makin aswell so im tryin to hold off on the gauges until then

Yeah? Id be keen to buy the TS bov. how much you asking?- let me know asap while i still have the cash.
Top panel update:
Ive got the gauge housing plug ready to go. But I NEED a top panel to screw it onto, bog up and spray fill. I cant go any further till i have a top panel. a mate of mine (who is a panel beater) can get me a new one for $50+ postage. But cos its a mould it will be unusable/ trashed after. Surely i can get one cheaper.
Id give TMR's old one a shot and try to patch up any gaps if i ever get out to Mawson Lakes.

Since my last post ive installed the K&N panel filter, and a TurboSmart hybrid Bov. About 2+ months ago, a mate n I installed the RPW front pipe and exhaust (magnflow). Since the installation ive lived with a really annoying rattle.
On Thursday i took it over to Profix at marion, and had the tip welded on and got rid of the rattle. They charged me a fortune for the adjustments, but they did a very professional job, did exactly what i asked, and im happy with it now.
I didnt like the tip which came with the Magnaflow system from RPW, so i cut the stock tip off the orig exhaust, sprayed it matt black (high temp), and had it welded up. fair happy with it.
took the iphone out n recorded a quick video, doesn't really do it justice but ey:

Ok, update time.
Got the new brakes installed today, RDA slotted front rotors, Remsa front pads and QFM rear pads. Drove her home, braking was awful and they were smoking up, but i guess they need a 100-200 ks to bed em in. Already better sarvo. pretty happy with em. no photos as yet, cos i cant get a good shot with stock wheels. I gotta set of enkei ev5s on the way from the US. http://www.enkei.com/ev5.html
Stereo installed. (Ive had the pioneer head unit in for a few months), but i got the rest of the system installed, pioneer amp and front speakers, and a kenwood sub. She makes a bita noise now.
And jus a few little things done to the interior. I changed the leds behind the centre console so its all red lights (looks mean at night with the red dash lights), and i put some of that 3d carbon fibre look vinyl onto the silver panels. was a bitch to put on, but it looks alright and should look the goods with my carbon gauge housing when its done.

This is the how to (there are a heap of screws holding that face on):
http://www.rcolt.com/showthread.php?2301-Dash-light-tinting
But i changed the LEDs rather than colouring the clear plastic bit. Ya need "T5" LEDs, the ones i got were '3 leds in one' (got like 10 off ebay and half of em worked) but I had clearance issues when i put the panels back on. I had to do a bita modification and drill a little bit of that clear plastic panel to get the face to sit back on (so try to get normal T5 leds which are the same size as the stock ones). Took a little longer than expected but worth the effort tho, shoulda come like that in the 1st place.
Oh yeah the you can choose the colour of the buttons on the pioneer deck too (RED of course) and the background.

what is that blue mat thing on your dash?
Powers
27-09-2010, 07:04 PM
Thats my dodgy temporary centre dash panel (looks better when it expands in summer, but looks a little limp in winter). I took the original panel out to make a mould so i can make a carbon fibre panel which will hold my gauges. the plug is pretty much finished & has been sittin on my desk at work for 6 months. It needs a spray putty and its ready to make the mould. heres a pic (the mounting face is angled towards the driver)

Hey Powers,
Nice work on the mould, is it a direct fit back onto the dash with the clips?
Any plans to do a production run on these gauge panels? Might be a good market for it depending on price.

yoll Powers, make sure you prepare that centre piece for a little 'flex' upon re-entry. if i remember correctly, it needs a little jiggle to get back in.
tits effort ftw.

Looking good mate. Just remember that with your new pads and rotors they need to be bedded in properly (generally something like 6-8 stops from 60-80km/h when first fitted, and without ever completely stopping) and then driven easily for about 500km's for best performance. I originally tried front and rear HPX's and they weren't as good as the stock pads, but I have found the Remsa's (front and rear on my car) to be at least comparable in performance to the stock pads.
Powers
27-09-2010, 11:32 PM
yeah not 100% on how ill attach it yet. ive had a few ideas, yet to decide on one. Im hoping it will flex for me a little damo, it is pretty brittle stuff, but it wont be layed up to be structural (more for aesthetics than strength).
regarding production run: I will have a mold so ideally there will be reproduction opportunities (whether they are full DIY or ready made depends on ease of replication) More info when i finally get to that point.

Cheers for that Zadok. I reckon i woulda done that straight after i got em, put the foot down between the giveway signs in my suburb for a few laps, so should be sweet. will ave to take it easy for a bit. ta

What size and ET on rims? They appear to be 17"x7" and around +38ET?
I'm trying to find something I like that suits the Colt, rims off my Lancer look *OK* but that's all.

215 40 17s
whats the extra wheel roll against 205 45 16's? have you checked your speedo against a good gps? each time i go shopping for rubber i get told to go to 17s because theres more tyre options. but wasnt sure if it was adding more than 2% to wheel roll.

215/40/17 is adding like 2% more but if you go to 215/45/17 it adds like 5% or something~

Looks great nice combination with the silver rcolt, good angle on the photos too, captured the nice rounded figure of the car.

Had a bitova crafternoon yesterday, trying to inspire myself to finish my dash panel project. I got a generic 3 gauge housing for my gauges, and mounted it up with a bit carbon fibre look vinyl. Looks alright (better than the dodgy blue mat that i had anyway). I still need to wire it all up (hopefully on the weekend), but ill be able to use the same mounting point for when the real carbon panel is finished.
