I have ordered a set of 17" rims with the latest Yokohama
S.Drive 215/40/17 87Y , and i think the grip for these tyres should be the closest performance compare to AD07 we can get if you want to upgrade to 17" or 16" replacement tyres for our coltR,waiting the stocks from mainland, hopefully can put them on by the end of next week.
For all our Colt R owners, we have no doubt how good the AD07 tyres in the dry condition, may be some ColtR owners also find out the downside for these tyres is when you reach its limit, it just suddenly slide ,it doesnt scream at all when reach to limits like semi race tyres, it might not everyone's favour because you dont know how much more to go before it lost control ,i read a magazine ,it said the quality of AD07 we have on our car wasnt as good as used to be,they said the AD07 screaming all the way to its limit but mine doesnt ,dont know why ?and it only last for 20000 kms and a member said it cost $300+ to replace it if we really can get them, thats not cheap, the S.drive cost me $225ea 215/40/17 87Y,therefore why not try something cheaper and last longer and i think our ColtR owners is mostly drive it on public road. Why we worry so much the AD07,if go to track, get a spare set of rims with A048 or D03G etc....., would be more fun then........, i am not trying to give any members a hard feeling or being rude to anyone but thats my opinion.:)

I heard S drive's good too. Another good top range Yoko tyres will be Advan Sport, but i heard they don't come in 16 inch.
As for the 20 000km, its quite normal. Remember AD07 ain't your normal day to day tyres and that's about their lifespan for daily drive. If you even get a semi as a daily, you will find that you need to replace them within 10000km. Remember, the more sticky the tyre, the faster you need to replace them.

I just got of the phone with the Ralliart Cometition Manager He called me at 4.05 today we had a quiet a long conversation in short.
Ralliart in consultation with Yokahama now recommend in the interium the S.Drive 215/45/16 87Y. I asked him to send all Rcolt owners a letter to this affect.
The ADO7,s that Yokahama were going to fly out last week have been delayed due to production problems but they are on there way and we are not going to be penalised for the cost of flying them out to Australia.
He owns a Ralliart Colt himself and was unaware of our website he said he would join Rcolt.com and showcase his Rcolt as it has all the Ralliart Colt go fast bits fitted and it will soon have the sports muffler fitted.
He asked me how many members we have I said around 100+ from memory!
He will contact Lovecolt soon with a request for email address of members of this forum so that an owner patition can be sent to Yokahama: lovecolt will keep us up to date here.
He stated that he will post all the Ralliart Colt Go Fast Bits on this site with pricing.
He also stated that on the 26th and 27th at Eastern Creek that there is a round of the Dutton Championship being run and THERE WILL BE A RALLIART COLT compeating. He will be there and is looking farward to and encorages members of this forum to attend he is also hopes to meet members of this forum who own Rcolts or Evo's for a chat.

That's great news, Raymond. I should wait for the manager to get in touch with me. Hopefully, through him, we can even distribute some form of namecard to all ralliart dealers and pass it on to all future RColt owners :D

PS I forgot to mention in the post above about the Yokahama S Drive tyres.
The Ralliart Competition Manager stated that if we mention that we have a Rcolt and are purchasing the S Drives as replacements for our AD07,s they (Yokahama) are prepared to offer us a discount on the S Drives.
Basicilly when we get our tyre shop to order the tyres they have to metion that the S Drives as replacements for our AD07,s fitted to Rcolts.
The amount of discount was not metioned in the conversation I had with him today.

You got it in one, Yes Steve Bell was the person I was speaking too:
It appears that they are giving us a 8.7% discount all they are really doing is claiming back their GST imput credits and not charging us GST this mean that some other poor taxpayer will be hit for it somewhere else.

Ok 1st of all the $230 price was a straight quote for 16" S drives without any Yokahama/Ralliart involvement.
Now that Yokahama have come to the party or so they say with a discount for 16" S Drive tyres for our Rcolts and a bit of haggling I recon I can get them for under $200 from Clairmont Tyres at Yagoona, ask for Mark. Get Mark to contact Yokahama and get him to mention that Yokahama have a deal with Ralliart to give us a discount if they do not come to the party contact myself and I will give Steve Bell a tingle and get him to stick it up Yokahama until they come to town with a discounted price.

I just got a fresh 2 of these put on the front today...
Not impressed AT ALL. Lose traction in 1st gear in the dry and I found the car to understeer a LOT in corners. I'm actually pretty pissed off.

As i mentioned in MSN, this should be due to the tyres are placed in the front and not wear in yet. FWD need front tyres to grip. Since its not wear in yet, it will not grip. Wait a while and then tell us what you think ;)
