I'm not sure that how much for the green stuff you guys can get, i remember i use to get for my ek4 civic for about $400, and these PMU pads i got for $450, and they seems better than green stuff and less brake dust too, but may be a bit noisy to someone.
The PMU i got for the colt are just FS street use, they are 0-5 or 600 degrees, not like green stuff 0-400 if im correct.
just a tip for those guys wanna try PMU pads too:
I felt like no brakes at all when I just got it done, It will be like that but slowly getting better for about the first 50-60km(depending on how hard you brake), when i just put these on, I got shocked and nearlly hit the car in the front, you need to just brake hard to get it wear in. I got told later on another proper way to do it. find a clear street, and raise the speed to 60 then brake the hardest to completely stop or about 10km/h, repeat this 2 to 3 times, then 80 then 100.
after all you get really good pads.
bed in guide from EBC site
1. How to bed in your new brakes
Drive your vehicle steadily within the first 300-400 miles of road use only using the brakes violently in case of emergency. During this time use the brakes lightly and intermittently to achieve a matching between the pad and rotor which we call break in or bed in.
The speed with which perfect brake in will have occurred depends on how often the brakes are used. If you drive on a freeway or motorway and do not use your brakes for miles at a time, break in periods will be much longer. Using the brakes with caution during their early life will extend their wear life and greatly reduce the chances of rotor vibration or “shimmying” as it is known in the States. During the bed in time the pads will only contact the disc on a limited area until tiny irregularities in machining or misalignment of the pads against the rotor have been removed. You can easily see how far you have progressed with bedding in your new brakes by looking through the wheel spokes and evaluating pad contact. The rotor should look shiny and smooth across its surfaces from outside to inside in all areas of the rotor. If you have purchased EBC gold zinc or black zinc coated sport slotted rotors, all of these coatings should have been visibly removed across the entire braking area of the rotor. Break in times on European vehicles is usually considerably longer than on Asian or US built vehicles because of the design of the brake system. European vehicles use a “taller” brake pad and may tend to contact on the outer edges of the rotor first and gradually contact more towards the centre of the axle over the first few hundred miles. After you are confident that the pads and discs are perfectly mated, use the brakes on a quiet and safe road 5-6 times at medium pressure bringing the car from 60mph to 10mph. Drive the vehicle for a few miles to allow the brakes to cool and repeat this procedure. During this final break in a brake odour will almost certainly appear and this is perfectly normal. This is known as green fade where the surface resins within the pad finally cure and burn off.
This bed in procedure is for STREET driving only. For race use bed in please see notes inside the package.

 $450 for front and rear pads + install or what?!
You can get Bendix Ultimates for about $70 front which will do just as good, if not a better job on the street.

Bendix = local, Project Mu = import?? Not too hard to work out why each's are priced like that???
Getting tired to see people expressing opinion without even looking at the whole picture. Sorry nic85, not having a go with you, but to so many people's opinion that i observed.
When you consider currency difference, cost of shipping over (a set of pads ain't lightweight)and the possible duty tax/GST (distributor don't import one at a time, so their shipment's bound to be charged with duty tax/gst), its not hard to work out when it cost a premium over the locals.
Therefore, its ulimately up to the consumers to decide if they wanted a trusted brand from Japan or a local made brand.

Yeah, don't get me wrong - I'm sure they're a great pad, and like you say it's up to the consumer at the end of the day what they want to spend their money on.
I must say I was more than a little shocked to see the price of the pads and so I was inquiring if that was for all 4 pads + fitment or not.
I've used Bendix HD pads on our EVO for almost 2 years now and they're quite good - dusty, but good. I see some guys on the EVO forums use like $800 pads, but they all do track days and require the best of the best.
I'm sorry if I sound too strong on opinion on this issue, it's just that I have had a bit of experience with lots of brake pads and really can't fault the Bendix gear.
Anyway, like you say lovecolt, to each their own! :D

Its all good nic ;) Like i said, my words are not pointing at you, but more to remind the general public that there's always more than "the $ signs" in everything.
For brake pads especially, its quite subjective. Not everyone felt the same towards the same thing.

project mu's are good but most people wont justify the money on getting them especially since theres some really good local ones... but if you are going track work PMU are really good :)

Ok. I've got a mate who works at Autobarn so I'll confirm tomorrow - not that I don't believe you. :)
If not, I'll see what Bendix listings there are for the RColt.

If anyone is after specific track only pads, we can get the R Colt pads made up in QFM's 'Comp' material, such as Comp 6, 9, 12 etc.
For those that think they've heard that name before, Race Brakes (who helped co develope the compounds) sell those comp pads in their own box, but they're actually manufactured by QFM.
The Comp pads to suit R Colt would start at $199 per axle set for a Comp 9 (Ferodo DS3000 equivalent).
Also, I've just had a squiz on our PMu catalog and can't see the R Colt pads listed, what part numbers are people using, or are they only using them on the VR4 calipers?
