iv started this thread so we can learn from our mistakes - what have you blown/broken/damaged , how did it happen and whats the fix?

i damaged my mags.. dam gutter got in the way.. and my girlfriend had also blown something..

Best I've managed was in one of my old boss's work car - it was a 2001 Barina - like this one only red...

So anywho, it had about 130,000kms on it and the boss thought it was a good idea to not service vehicles, so it had gone about 40,000kms without an oil change - started making funny ticking noises, so he changed the oil with diesel engine oil *shudder* and told me to take it.

It was sounding aweful! Cruising up the highway in 5th, lean on the throttle a little bit to get up a hill and BAM! MASSIVE bang from under the bonnet followed by bits of engine flying under the car and hitting cars behind me.

Turned out a conrod had blown a hole in the engine block the size of an orange!

I canceled a flight, cause I snapped the stud that holds the toilet shit pump in, I shouldnt have given it one last turn!

I turned the gas on the BBQ then realised i didnt have the lighter so went and grabbed it from the laundry, came back squatted down to light it and boom..fireball threw me across the yard lucky me only lost my fringe, arm hairs some eyebrows and part of mt eye lashes.Could have been a lot worse.
