I'm considering a Ralliart Colt as my next vehicle purchase.

I live in a rural area where 98 octane isn't always at hand.
What is the minimum octane rating for the Ralliart Colt? Is it 95 or 98 octane?

Also, what brand of fuel seems to give better performance?

Mate im pretty sure it says on our fuel door that a minimum of 98 is required. Do you have access to a kmart or thus ? cause the winns spitfire black octane booster is REALLY good and was a proven performer in my old supra. Would use it on the colt when it gets dyno'd.

hi rdster,

my rcolt has on the fuel door minimum 95 octane and i've run mine on it once when i didn't have access to premium and it still went alright.. i normally fill up with caltex fuels.

also, i reckon that when u fill up from a new servo it runs alot smoother and harder! (or it could just be me! lol)

95+, true, my mistake.

That's correct. Its stated 95+ when you open the fuel lid.

However, to me it could mean any fuel above 95. I guess it will be fine if you don't go too hard when you have 95 in it. In your situation, you can try to put 98 as much as possible, and put 95 during the other times.

I always put Shell Vortex 98. Tried BP before which seems quite nice, but i stick with Shell as its most convenient for me.

Just happened to be reading an actical intitled, MoTeC research on pump fuels, who comes out on top?
on the V8 Supercar website it appears that the 100 Octane Shell V-Power Racing under stringent test conditions gave significant HP and torque incresses over 98 Octane fuels.
