Hi guys,

Not a ColtR owner yet, but looking at it seriously, test drove one last weekend, thought the performance was excellent & seemed to handle really well, seats good (very snug) & overall look of car has grown on me, also dont see too many around here in Vic. How does everyone find it as a day to day car, I would be doing some highway/city driving daily? The negatives I found were that there seemed to be some turbo lag, but I kinda put that down to my gear changes being a bit crap, ie not keeping revs in the zone, ride was quite hard/crashy (a few rattles), interior plastics not best quality, stereo sounded a bit ordinary. Having said that, even with the negatives I find myself liking it the more I think about it. Currently drive a Fiesta Zetec which handles sweet & the euro quality is good. Any thoughts welcome :-)

PS: Also what is the official 0-100 time, I've heard everything from 7.3, 7.8, 8.0, 8.3, 8.5???

Welcome to the site.

And, to answer your question, i find my RColt's perfect for a daily. Big in interior, decent power and great fuel efficiency. The key to drive a RColt, is to always keep your rev above 3000rpm. And if you can put in a boost controller (Seems that only HKS EVC works on our car), it will definitely be even more driveable as a daily. As for interior, i'm totally fine with it and have yet to find a rattle. The ride is indeed abit hard (will be even harder when the suspension's settled down), but its perfectly fine with me even on the crappest road in Aus, a.k.a Sydney Road. I guess, coming from a hard ass Tein Coilover on a 200sx, RColt's ride is very very very....very acceptable :D

As for the 0 - 100kmph, the factory official times are way too slow. MOTOR magazine's Bang For Your Buck (BFYB) test, our RColt fare a 7.4 sec. With a better professional dragster, it might do abit quicker. Hence, i will say its 7.4 sec +/-.

hi mate welcome,

i love my rcolt and find it fine driving day-to-day, yes the ride is a bit hard but the payoff is when you go around corners.. its just grips and grips and grips. and yeah, the interior can comfortably seat four 6" adults. also consider its only a 1.5lt engine and i think the power that it produces is quite impressive. i drive it hard a fair bit, i.e. i don't try and be fuel conservative and the worst fuel consumption i ever get is in the low 9lt/100kms.

sure the interior may be a little low rent, but i think u have to ask yourself what are u gonna buy this car for.. it really is a drivers car..

same with the stereo - the head unit is pretty adequate, and i'm sure you could improve the sound by changing the speakers and maybe an amp or 2..

hope this helps!

hey ive had the car for a while now and have driven over 18 000 ks. Daily driving is great and i find everything is fine. Doesnt gussel much fuel unless you want it to. I even drove my colt to Melb and back from Adel. It nice to overtake in 5th without even trying:) . If you have prolong drives like to Melb you may need to stretch ur Butt as the recaros are rock solid...which is good for short term. ..but besides that ...go get one and you can enjoy all the fun we are all having
