According to inside source, the CTR (eggbox) will be priced at $50k +/-. Plus drive away, maybe 53k. And yes, it will be limited number. I think its around 300 per yr or something.

The local Honda dealer has indicated that the Type R Civic will be priced either at $39990 or $40990, plus on road costs. He explained to me that the pricing needs to be sharp, in order to compete with the Mazda 3 MPS,Focus XR5, and the Astra VRX.

hmmm.....different from what my honda sales friend told us.....i guess we will have to see. Obviously, it will be a great news if its priced at 40k ;)

Dude, test drive it before you make up your mind. Might not be the car for you.

I had 1 experience with ITR, tried to experience the vtec....gun it on a long stretch of road......at the end of the road, i barely rev over 5000rpm and i was pissing myself LOL :D I thought i have already rev long enough and yet it didn't even reach vtec :D Hence, it tells me vtec ain't really for me....

Hence, my advise on test drive the car before making up your mind.

ive been told thats its going to be $41990 but from what i've read so far, it hasnt been getting very many "good" reviews, everyone just seems to say very average things about it.

I'd look at the new Evolution instead. ;)

I'm a big Honda enthusiast, however there aren't many if any impressive new models coming out on the market. Engineering has gone softer and softer as the years move on, components selection is aimed at cost reduction vs. performance orientation.

Honda is aiming to compete with a greater market share with Toyota worldwide, hence they've moved away quite rapidly from producing what enthusiasts and Honda lovers want. The new "R" generation is a clear testament to this fact.
