Help! Advice needed.

Why can i smell my coolant liquid when i have the heater on? Also when i dont have the heater on there is warm air passing through the windscreen vents witch smell like the coolant.

My coolant smells like rotten eggs and when i turn on the A/C it smells like rotten eggs. I then took a smell of the coolant to make sure it was the same smell and it was. This only started to happen last thursday. What the hell is wrong???????

Is coolant leaking somewhere? My Resovior hasnt even moved since thurs so cant be a leak but how can that smell get into the air ducts!!!! I cant take it IT SMELLS SOOOOO BAD!!!

Have you topped up recently?

check the a/c drain valve, zie a zip tie to clean it, should be a hole in the firewall above one of the suspention arm area, if its blocked none of the condencement inthe airbox can leak out, and could cause a sink.

mabey you left a rotten egg in the vent. check around the lower portion of the center console for dampness too.

I did some research also~

It might be a pin hole crack in the heater core. Cause it only starts to smell when the car starts to warm up. Theres also steam coming from the vents when i turn up the fans. Worst thing is the stuff is poisen and i'm actually feeling pretty ill because of it =.=!

Many many years ago I had a Gemini & an old Colt with the same problems,in both cases it was the heater core, they both had leaks.Gemini got a 2nd hand one off a mate and the colt got nothing, i just joined the hoses together, so no heater,not so good in a Canberra winter:D
It could be the heater core, the Gemini steamed up the windscreen.

Yah steam is coming out and the windscreen is condensing and there is water there. The vapours are REALLY strong now. I have to wear a chemical breathing mask to stop the gas and fumes from killing me ><

Worst thing is this is my daily driver and i need it for work. Cant get it into mitsu till Wed's as their booked out. Sucks to be me right now lol!

and they will have to remove the WHOLE dash and crash bar behind it just to change it, alot of work!

I wouldnt want to try finish it in a day, I would say 2 to 3 days + then they may have to order in the part.

I think I might have the same problem... My air con smells like rotten oranges sometimes and I have warm air come out the dash onto the front window when I start up
