I've just grabbed the rcolt brochure from a ralliart dealer, and saw there are a few colours to pick from.. but why is it that the rcolt i'm picking up isn't on that list, it's blue. to add to that, i've driven a yellow one. (both brand new from factory)

what colours are the colts here? does anybody else have any random colour that isn't in the brochure?

I have 'Gunmetal Grey' but it looks blue in some light... The pic in your avatar looks to be gunmetal grey too..

Hopefully, i didn't get it wrong.

Current 07 colors range of RColt in Jap is white, red, black, silver, yellow and blue. But for 06, we have white, red, black, silver, yellow, gunmetal grey. And in between, there's a Recaro special edition with light blue.

Looks like a custom job to me, maybe even a quick fit spoiler for race days as it seems to hook over the standard rcolt bumper lip if you look closely. (it would be easily damaged for street use) It may just be a case of hook it on and screw in a couple of bolts either side of the bumper, inside the wheel arch.;)

This is a 3 door Colt CZT AWD with a 500+BHP and 600+NM 4G63T engine under the bonnet :p, I really love it :cool: :D

i think the red colt and white colt should be left as two-tone. Other colours may be ok to colour code but hard to say.

coro, with those pics you can see they left the rear diffuser black, IMO i would leave the small part holding the foggies and that little top bit between the foggies black on the front, all red on the front drowns it out i reckon..

I don't know, seems like just another part of the car that you have to protect from stone chips, I'd just leave it as the raw plastic - would it be even worth painting the plastic parts on the black colt? You could paint it a lovely shade of red - lol!:D

Wasn't photoshop, just messing around with Paint - yet to get photoshop but it is on my list!

Steve, I wonder what your colt would look like with all of the body kit parts painted in gloss metallic black to match the duco, and a dark titanium or gunmetal colour on the rear diffuser and front bumper sections (I'm not assing about this time!):)

hmm, why paint the rear and front darker, and not leave them black plastic ? if you get trim detailers exterior plastics product, you can make the plastic look really dark and glossy anyway..dunno. but a good idea.

Back at the top of page you can click on the (new) and scroll down past the filthy honda and there are some images with blacked out sections in the bar which is my fave! I also like the mirrors. its not really custom either, you could buy any old universal wing, and do a few mods like cut it down to length and then retp new hold to make the mounts fit the standard holes. wouldnt be hard for anyone with half a brain and a tape measure lol

from what i can see they're relocated the batt to the rear. Theres custom pipe work with a fuel regulator, custom enclosed pod with a cold air feed and a kakimoto heat sheild. Theres also bonnet pins witch means its a carbon bonnet. I also noticed that they are using the Blitz Full atmo BOV. The front tower strut is also changed. From the looks of the ECU, there seems to be no sign of tamper so i'm guesing its a reflash.

From the looks of things, the front crash bar has been removed completely to fit a fat intercooler core in. If I were to fit a FMIC, that is how I would plumb it up.
The wing and front bumper are Topline products.

I was bored waiting to get my colt serviced, so I took a few pics of the new colt (and evo), along with the last 06 model they had in stock - love the number plates, I want them!:) Oh yeah, silver looks very nice with the new wheels, but I tried out the seats and they suck from a peformance point of view. Shitty phone camera again I'm afraid!

If the seats arent any good in the new colt then just be happy that they dont have airbags which means you can easy change them out for some decent ones.

Our recaros are mounted quite high and when buying mounts for whatever seat a person would want, they could end up unable to see over the dash... To get 2 recaros or seats as good as the recaros with mounts that don't need modifications would cost a grand easy.

Everyone says "who cares, just buy better seats" but not everyone wants to spend another grand on a non-discounted car for seats that came free on a discounted one...

tony's right. When it comes to seats you dont want to buy cheap. Why? Because its very important that the seat holds down or keeps its structure in case of an emergency. I've seen cheap seats come off, i repeat come off their rails after a very hard break.

For something so important you cant cut corners!!!

Its as simple as this folks... If I were buying now and not 6mths ago, I would not have bought the colt... Just on the recaros alone...

I may be very different to others on this site, but there's likely more like me out there and wouldn't buy based on the same thing...

In 3-4 yrs time when my warranty is dwindling, if there isn't an impressive replacement for the rcolt, I'll look at an evo viii mr, just so I can feel at home...

On a tight twisty track or road, the recaros alone will get you a better time... If you don't believe that, don't ever bother coming out for a drive with me...

It's a more civilised colt now, with a price to match, but I must admit the Recaros were a big drawcard for me. The exterior looks are still great (even better with the new wheels), there's just a few minor things missing in the interior but you gain a better looking dash. I've seen more seat swap/upgrades end in disaster than success... Our recaros are mounted quite high and when buying mounts for whatever seat a person would want, they could end up unable to see over the dash... To get 2 recaros or seats as good as the recaros with mounts that don't need modifications would cost a grand easy.

Everyone says "who cares, just buy better seats" but not everyone wants to spend another grand on a non-discounted car for seats that came free on a discounted one...

No point in flaring the guards unless the suspension itself is widened. Some of the overseas guys use spacers to fill out the stock guards, but if the guards were to be widened and larger spacers used, it would put too much stress on the hub/studs, not to mention be a little bit illegal.

The rally car has completely custom fabricated suspension arms/spaceframe chassis and Evo driveline to achieve the wide arch setup. :)

Just looking at a couple more pictures of that particular colt with the depp dish rims, the only reason the tyres fit is the fact that they are undersize for rim width - drift style, they do look good but probably not very practical!:) (see pics)

It makes sense to have downforce at the back, pro FWD racing classes will all have wings at the back too. They will also however have a front spoiler too. They want downforce over the whole car.. ie. all 4 wheels to maximise grip.

Alot of people think theres no need for a rear wing on a fwd car, but our rear tyres still need grip too.

Watch the mini racing one day. They all have small, tasteful GT wings. The rather large ones on some of these colts maybe not so much, but the ralliart one for example is within reason.

You need downforce but not from a wing like that. Thats what the ralliart wing is for. Just to give it that litte extra downforce.

A good fron spitter and good body suspension and stiffness will keep the rear planted.

2 batch of RColt came in to Aus since 2006. First batch's about 5-600 and i expect around the same for the 2nd batch. Therefore, safe estimate is about 1000+ RColt in total in Aus.
