It seems all the major off-road car rallies are becoming a farce, with economic circumstances dictating the future of the sport. More & more manufacturers are dropping out by the minute. The latest casualties include Suzuki and now Subaru from the WRC (god knows who is actually going to turn up to the new NSW WRC), and in the ARC which is already just about dead, Toyota have withdrawn factory ther support, which leaves no factory teams at all??

Seems that bitumen rallying is now the mainstay in Oz rallying with greatly reduced costs due to less wear & tear on the cars and components.

This really sucks, they really need to get back to the bare roots of rallying - bit like they do in England.:(

only 2 manufacture teams running WRC this year citroen and ford. there is a few other cars running but privatear entrys.

i dont think citroen and fordshould be there though. subaru and mitsubishi both sell cars you could buy in teh showroom and same day be on a rally stage. citroen dont and i dont belive ford do either!
