Hi All

Got my front pipe made yesteday and I should have done it when I got the rear made. The front pipe makes the car breathe so much more! The boost comes on early and it now sounds deeper and a little louder. When I go into my mechanic next I'll get him to dyno the car to see about power.

For everyone wanting better drivability this is a great mod! :D

How much did it cost you??? I might get a custom one made :D

Is it with Hi-Tech?? What's the damage on it?? Would be interesting to see the dyno results on it :)

The front pipe is the exhaust from the dump through to the second middle muffler.

Ryan, I got Westisde to do it. Indy said they were good and did the work on the S15. (Personally I think they are on par with Hi Tech but they have strong opinions on how they want to make the exhaust)

It cost "a bit" so if a few are wanting it I would try and get Mitsiman to put his into production.

I drove the car on sunday for most of the day and it really changes the lag in the car. The response is improved a lot! For the suggested modification's a full exhaust should be number 1.

Should meet up soon :D I want to see it :)

I thought the front part of the exhaust piping was already large enough? it is the dump pipe that needs widening???

I also had a custom front pipe made up approx a month ago now. I concur with Adam it does make the car more responsive and boost does kick in at least 500rpm to 800rpm earlier.

Just waiting on a dump pipe to be manufactured and the exhaust is done :)

Cool, most of my other stuff has calmed down so I have free time :D

Hey Darth
The join to the dump is really small! It looks the same diametre as the rear (Mitsiman measured it a while back). Do you have the proto-type from RPW?

Isn't this the pipe that comes with the RPW cat-back anyway?

All I have left to do is the dump pipe...

Should be here any day - although been thinking that the last couple weeks  .
Already had the 'prototype' in a while ago, awaiting the first production sample to go in (will stay in this time) then when all is well after a week or so RPW will order in their shop stock. Think the small pipe you mention might come with the dump pipe kit or it has been done with the RPW cat back?? anyways I know when the Dump back is in its all opened to 2 1/2 inch system (from a stock 1 3/4? or there abouts?) Next is a Turbo Manifold to cater for a few larger turbos - but thats on hold till we can tune the car (ie ECU)

should be interesting to see the result ey

if you had those pipes, a larger fmic, boost restriction removed and an aftermarket air filter you'll be in control of a fast spooling 135kw+ atw colt...

sounds good to me.. not sure personally if i'd swap the turbo etc purely because driveability will probably go out the window after intercooler/exhaust anyway :)

when i got my exhaust done it was front pipe back because the shop said its too hard to make a dump with the room available and time i gave them (half a day) cant wait for RPW to finish theres :) and then Saber intercooler...

Filo, I had the exact same response. We should all be glad that RPW is working on doing it because I think almost no one else will.

I also gave it a bit going up a fairly steep hill last night and the boost builds very quick still to 17psi but drops back faster as well.
